“Formations – X”

Southampton, 2018

This is a series of still life art installations displayed at the 2018 Athens Art Exhibition, located at the entrance and garden terrace of the Athens Conservatory. Various unique curved elements create a chaotic seating arrangement, each appearing as scattered independent objects, while each maintains its own balanced posture, yet collectively creates a shared space through their individual characteristics.

Eleni Petaloti and Leonidas Trampoukis, both from Greece, co-founded OoCI in 2015, with works spanning art, design, and architecture, focusing on the essence of the relationship between “installation” and “space,” centered on material experimentation, conceptual depth, and perceptible spatial experiences. They often translate abstract concepts into tangible, sit-able, and walkable living scenes using unconventional materials such as soft inflatables, semi-transparent resins, and recycled rubber. Perhaps influenced by the Greek still life tradition, they frequently arrange furniture, lighting, and sculptures as stage props.
