The robotic vacuum cleaner is a new technology that has emerged in recent years, becoming a “nanny” in households.

It is a round robot with a diameter of about 25 centimeters. It uses three wheels and two fan blades to sweep up debris, and a vacuum pump to suck up the dirt. But how does it avoid colliding with obstacles? This can be achieved by installing an “optical limit sensor.” When the robot encounters an obstacle, it immediately stops and re-plans its route based on CPU instructions. Additionally, to prevent the robot from rolling down stairs, an infrared sensor is installed inside the robot to detect “cliff routes.” Upon receiving the CPU’s command, the robot will immediately return, leaving the danger zone.

So how does the robot clean the room effectively? A laser radar sensor allows the robot to clean the room 360° without any blind spots, ensuring thorough cleaning. However, if there are obstacles like tables and chairs blocking its path, the “optical limit sensor” will immediately instruct it to return. This could leave a large area behind the chair uncleaned; what can be done? Therefore, the robotic vacuum cleaner is equipped with a gyroscope sensor and wheel encoders. If it encounters such a situation, the gyroscope sensor calculates the best route and sends it to the CPU, allowing the robot to navigate around the obstacle and clean the area behind it.

Technology is still developing, and we believe that more technological products will emerge in the future. Let’s wait and see!
