On November 10, the Tongren Power Supply Bureau of Guizhou Electric Power Company successfully installed and put into operation the first multi-physical quantity meteorological sensor device of Southern Power Grid on the 35 kV Wanbao Xingxia T-line No. 0213 tower.
This device is specifically designed for the micro-meteorological environment of power transmission and distribution lines, integrating 10 physical quantities including wire temperature, vibration, current, altitude, visible light images, infrared images, and environmental temperature and humidity, along with a low-power neural network processor. It can collect key meteorological data in real-time, such as temperature and humidity, wind speed and direction, atmospheric pressure, rainfall, and solar radiation, achieving comprehensive monitoring of complex micro-meteorological environments.
This sensor provides precise data support for monitoring tasks such as ice covering on lines and forest fire prevention in Guizhou, representing the latest technological achievements in the field of power transmission line monitoring and marking an important step for the power grid in addressing extreme weather risks.
Li Xinwei, General Manager of the Production Technology Department of Tongren Power Supply Bureau of Southern Power Grid, stated: “The installation and operation of the device will effectively solve the problems faced by traditional manual and drone inspections, which are limited by weather conditions, as well as the issues of existing online monitoring devices being functionally single and data being scattered.”
