The brightness, beauty, and motion characteristics of neon lights are irreplaceable by any electric light source, standing out amidst the continuous emergence and competition of various new light sources. So, can we achieve neon light program design through PLC in our industrial control industry? Of course, we can. Let’s implement the neon light control design.
1. Control Requirements
Control a group of 8 neon lights. Upon starting, the 8 neon lights should light up one by one from right to left; when all are lit, they should extinguish one by one from left to right. After all lights are extinguished, they should light up one by one from left to right again, and then extinguish one by one from right to left, repeating the above process.

3. Program Design
Step 1: (When the PLC starts running, T38 normally closed contact closes, executing the INC_B instruction to add 1, MB0=1)

Step 2: (The low 2 bits of MB0 are M0.1=0, M0.0=1. M0.1 normally closed contact closes, M0.0 normally open contact closes, Q0.0 is set, T37 sends a pulse every 1s, executing the left shift instruction SHL_B, shifting the 1 of Q0.0 to Q0.1~Q0.7 sequentially, lighting up ELI~EL8 in order, finally QB0=11111111.)

Step 3: (T38 sends a pulse every 8s to execute the INC_B instruction to add 1, count value MB0=2, M0.1=1, M0.0=0, M0.1 normally open contact closes, M0.0 normally open contact opens, executing the SHR_B right shift instruction, T37 sends a pulse every 1s, QB0=11111111 shifts right once, the leftmost bit is filled with 0, becoming QB0=01111111, each right shift fills the leftmost bit with 0, moving 0 sequentially to Q0.7~Q0.0, extinguishing EL8~EL1 in order. Finally, QB0=00000000.)

Step 4: (T38 sends a pulse every 8s, continuously repeating the above process)

4. Touch Screen Display Demonstration
Press the start button, and after 8 seconds, start the first light, then start the second light after one second, and so on until all eight lights are lit. When the eighth light extinguishes, wait one second to extinguish the seventh light, and so forth until all lights are extinguished. T38 sends a pulse every 8s, continuously repeating the above process.
