As previously introduced, the upcoming flagship devices are expected to be equipped with either the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 or the MediaTek Dimensity 9300 processor. The performance of these two Android flagship chips has become the focus of attention, but to gain a more intuitive understanding of their performance, we still need to rely on current benchmarking software.
Today, AnTuTu reported that it discovered a suspected benchmark score for the MediaTek Dimensity 9300 in the background, and its performance is quite impressive. According to the information identified by AnTuTu, the Dimensity 9300 features a CPU architecture with 4 ultra-large Cortex-X4 cores paired with 4 large Cortex-A720 cores, without any small cores, suggesting the rumored “all-large core” architecture; the GPU model is Immortalis-G720.
This test device is equipped with 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage, running Android 14. The total score recorded by AnTuTu is 2,055,084 points, marking the first time an Android flagship platform has surpassed 2 million points in the AnTuTu V10 version, setting a new record for Android flagships.
Subsequently, blogger @数码闲聊站 claimed that the Dimensity 9300’s AnTuTu score he saw was even higher, indicating that the score may improve further after optimization.
According to this blogger’s previous leaks, the Dimensity 9300 adopts an innovative all-large core CPU architecture, consisting of 4 Cortex-X4 ultra-large cores and 4 Cortex-A720 large cores, significantly enhancing performance while also greatly reducing power consumption. The GPU is equipped with Arm’s latest flagship GPU, the Immortalis-G720, which reduces daily power consumption by over 25%. Additionally, with the early implementation of a 7 billion AI large language model, the Dimensity 9300 is expected to excel in CPU, GPU, and APU (NPU) performance.
The Geekbench 6 score for this chip has already appeared, with a single-core score of 2139 and a multi-core score of 7110. In comparison with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for Galaxy (single-core 2234, multi-core 6807), the Dimensity 9300’s single-core score is slightly lower, but the difference is minimal, while it has a significant advantage in multi-core performance. Previously, this blogger also provided information on the benchmark scores of the Dimensity 9300’s main competitor, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, stating that a model equipped with 16GB LPDDR5T (which can only actually use LPDDR5X) and 1TB UFS 4.0 enhanced version scored around 2 million on AnTuTu, with CPU scores around 440,000 and GPU scores around 840,000.
In comparison, the AnTuTu score for Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 models is around 1.6 million, with CPU scores around 380,000 and GPU scores around 600,000. Based on this, the leak mentioned that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 “does not show significant theoretical improvements in CPU, ARM is to blame, but the self-developed GPU has improved well.” It can be seen that the AnTuTu score for the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 has reached around 2 million, but AnTuTu has not officially confirmed this.
From the current benchmark performance of both chips, it is evident that there has been a significant improvement in performance. However, many netizens have expressed that while the performance enhancement is substantial, it is also essential to ensure a good daily user experience alongside performance improvements. In the coming period, multiple models equipped with these two new chips will be launched, and those interested in the performance release and daily experience of related models can stay tuned.
