On August 26, 2025, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology released the “Announcement of Selected Units for the Second Batch of Innovative Tasks in Biomedical Materials”. The list of materials focuses on three directions: polymer materials, metal materials, and inorganic non-metallic materials.Among them, the projects for “3D printing zirconia ceramic ink” and “silicon nitride ceramics” have been selected.

3D printing zirconia ceramic ink
This project is led by Hangzhou Talys Medical Technology Co., Ltd., Hefei Boya Mate Biomedical Materials Co., Ltd., and Shandong Guoci Functional Materials Co., Ltd.
The project focuses on the field of dental restoration, with the core task of developing high-end nano-composite zirconia materials for 3D printing, aiming to break through the key technical bottlenecks in the preparation of dental zirconia powder, and fully connect the entire industrial chain of “zirconia powder – 3D printing zirconia ceramic ink – dental restorations (crowns, veneers, inlays, etc.)”, promoting the industrial application of technological achievements. The implementation of the project will effectively fill the domestic technical and application gap in 3D printing dental zirconia ceramic ink, meeting the high standard requirements of domestic materials for oral clinical restoration.
Guoci Materials is a new material platform enterprise that has formed six major business sectors: electronic materials, catalytic materials, biomedical materials, new energy materials, precision ceramics, and digital printing and other materials.Guoci Materials has been selected for the inorganic non-metallic direction of the “3D printing zirconia ceramic ink” project, becoming the only selected unit in Shandong Province in this direction.
Hangzhou Talys Medical Technology Co., Ltd. is a high-tech enterprise focused on the research and production of digitally customized medical devices; Hefei Boya Mate Biomedical Materials Co., Ltd. is a national high-tech enterprise focused on the innovative application of advanced biomaterials technology in the medical device field.
Silicon nitride ceramics
This project is led by the Fourth Medical Center of the General Hospital of the People’s Liberation Army and Hengyang Kaixin Special Materials Technology Co., Ltd.
Silicon nitride ceramics possess excellent chemical stability and biocompatibility, and are considered a promising biomaterial. Compared to traditional zirconia bioceramics, silicon nitride ceramics exhibit superior infection resistance and bone ingrowth capabilities. Meanwhile, silicon nitride ceramic materials not only have high hardness and wear resistance but also possess porous characteristics that support the internal growth of bone, beneficial for supporting the skeleton and durable biological fixation. They are suitable for applications in the biomedical field, such as prosthetics, knee joints, and surgical implant components.
Hengyang Kaixin Special Materials Technology Co., Ltd. was established in 2013 and has become a high-tech enterprise integrating R&D, production, and sales of designable silicon nitride composite special materials, recognized as a national specialized and innovative “little giant” enterprise. The company has a complete technical R&D system and a mature modern production line, developing a series of products based on a 99% high-purity formula, including high thermal conductivity silicon nitride substrate materials, thermal barrier silicon nitride composites, high-strength insulating silicon nitride materials, high-strength wear-resistant silicon nitride materials, and high-hardness toughened silicon nitride materials, with performance indicators that are internationally leading, widely used in aerospace, photovoltaics, chip electronics, precision bearings, and other industries.
