MediaTek Launches Next-Generation Flagship SOC: Dimensity 9500

MediaTek officially launched the Dimensity 9500 flagship mobile processor yesterday, claiming a comprehensive architectural redesign that delivers exceptional cooling performance.

It integrates a revamped full-core CPU, GPU, NPU, and ISP image processing units, achieving single-core performance that rivals contemporary flagship devices from Apple for the first time.

According to reports, the MediaTek Dimensity 9500 flagship processor adopts a brand-new extraordinary architecture: PC-level full-core CPU performance, console-level GPU rendering performance, and a dual NPU architecture that emphasizes both super performance and super efficiency.

This processor boasts an industry-leading 30 billion+ transistors and utilizes the advanced third-generation 3nm process technology.

The Dimensity 9500 flagship processor features a full-core CPU architecture, including one C1-Ultra super core with a clock speed of up to 4.21GHz, three C1-Premium super cores, and four C1-Pro large cores.

It is the first to integrate the matrix operation instruction set SME2 and supports a four-channel UFS 4.1 flash memory architecture.

The Dimensity 9500 flagship processor employs a new PC-level ARM V9.3 architecture, integrating the latest matrix operation instruction set SME2, which enhances object detection computing performance by 57% and reduces power consumption for running encoding and decoding models by 50%.

GeekBench v6.4 shows a 32% improvement in single-core performance compared to the Dimensity 9400,

In the game “Zero Zone,” bandwidth savings of 600MB/s and a power consumption reduction of 60mA were achieved, while also debuting “Dark Zone Breakout” at 120fps with ray tracing.

Additionally, the MediaTek Dimensity 9500 processor has enabled full-frame operation at 144 frames for games like “Peace Elite,” “Dark Zone Breakout,” and “Delta Action,” with a minimum frame rate exceeding 100 frames.

The Dimensity 9500 integrates a new super performance and super efficiency dual NPU: the super performance NPU 990 has a peak performance increase of 111% compared to the previous generation, with significant advancements in large language model summary output capabilities and multimodal understanding, and it is the first to achieve 4K high-definition image generation from text.

At the same time, the NPU 990 has reduced power consumption by 56% at peak performance compared to the previous generation.

The NPU 990 also integrates a generative AI engine 2.0, supporting BitNet 1.58bit large model computations, reducing the storage requirements for edge AI computations and lowering the power consumption of model operations.

The Dimensity 9500 flagship processor has resolved the issue of inaccurate voice-to-text conversion in “Honor of Kings,” with faster and more accurate voice-to-text speeds, achieving a 57% improvement over cloud recognition speeds.

The Dimensity 9500 also empowers OPPO’s AI edge-side implementation, with the Find X9 series smartphones’ AI intent search featuring understanding you Agentic AI UX,

The Dimensity 9500 is equipped with the Imagiq 1190 image processor, utilizing a RAW domain processing engine,
