To continuously optimize the layout of high-quality
public sports resources,
better meet the fitness needs of citizens nearby,
this year,
Nanchang has built one community embedded sports venue in
Nanchang County, Donghu District,
Xihu District, Qingshanhu District, Qinyunpu District,
Nanchang High-tech Zone, Xinjian District,
Nanchang Economic Development Zone, and Wanli Management Bureau.
Currently, the construction of each venue is progressing steadily,
and is expected to be fully completed by the end of November.

The Nanchang community embedded sports venue project
is a key project voted by the people for the 2025 livelihood initiatives,
with venue locations making full use of “corner” spaces in urban areas,
and individual designs following the principle of “one venue, one plan,”
integrating local traditional culture,
surrounding architectural styles, etc., into the planning and design,
with a total construction area of 18,800 square meters.
“Our site selection principle is to accurately utilize idle or inefficient spaces like ‘corner land’ within existing plots in mature communities, maximizing the outreach to surrounding residents, allowing more people to enjoy the convenience of sports within walking distance.” said Gong Zheng, project manager of the Nanchang community embedded sports venue project from Nanchang Jiao Investment Group. The project flexibly plans outdoor sports spaces based on the actual land area of each venue, configuring five-a-side football fields, standard basketball courts, pickleball courts, and table tennis courts to meet the diverse fitness needs of different groups.
“Our core goal is to break the traditional model of sports venues being ‘far from communities’,
and to build professional sports facilities right at the residents’ ‘doorsteps’,
allowing the public to participate in sports activities just by going downstairs,
truly promoting the concept of national fitness to take root and flourish,
and helping to create a ’15-minute fitness circle’.”
Gong Zheng stated.
One venue located on Huimin Road in the southern urban area covers an area of 11.7 acres,
with indoor arrangements of “one basketball court and six badminton courts”,
and outdoor arrangements of “one football field, one basketball court, two pickleball courts, and three table tennis tables”.
Yesterday, at the construction site,
reporters noticed that the main steel structure of the venue had been completely installed,
and the building outline was clearly visible;
nearby, a crane was on standby,
while excavators and rollers were roaring,
construction workers were either transporting materials,
or precisely assembling, or checking reinforcements,
orderly advancing various processes.
“Currently, the project has fully transitioned to the stage of laying the intermediate floor, followed by curtain wall and decoration work, with sports equipment installation starting in November, ensuring overall completion and delivery by the end of November.” Wu Hao, the project leader of the community embedded sports venues from China State Construction Third Engineering Bureau, stated that they are responsible for the construction of venues in Donghu District, Xihu District, Qingshanhu District, Qinyunpu District, and Nanchang High-tech Zone, and all projects are progressing rapidly according to the timeline. “Considering the short construction period, heavy tasks, and the scattered construction areas, which increase management difficulty, we will increase personnel and material investment, further optimize construction organization, strengthen on-site safety and quality control, and strive to complete the project and open it as soon as possible.” Wu Hao said.

The Nanchang community embedded sports venue in Wanli is also under vigorous construction,
and currently, the venue has completed pile foundations,
bearing platforms, and main steel structure construction,
and is advancing outdoor pipeline laying, greening planting
and installation of lighting facilities and other supporting construction work.
According to Xiao Wei, project manager of the Nanchang Second Construction Community Embedded Sports Venue,
the Wanli venue is located at the intersection of Hongfeng Road and Yinxing Road on the west side of the West Ring Expressway,
covering an area of about 12 acres,
with indoor arrangements of “one basketball court and six badminton courts”,
and outdoor as a pocket sports park,
arranged with “one football field, four basketball courts, two table tennis tables”, chess tables,
fitness equipment, and children’s facilities.
“At the beginning of the design, we fully integrated the excellent natural environment and living characteristics of the residents here, striving to deeply integrate the venue with the surrounding ecology and living atmosphere, creating a vibrant fitness and leisure place close to nature for residents. For example, the pocket sports park considers the needs of different age groups, providing gentle fitness equipment suitable for the elderly, as well as planning play areas like sandpits favored by young children, truly achieving ‘age-friendly’.” Xiao Wei said. As of now, the Wanli venue has completed about 70% of the overall project progress, and the next step will focus on advancing the surface construction work, refining construction processes, and strengthening quality control, striving to meet the construction goals and ensure full completion by the end of November.
The Nanchang community embedded sports venue project, once completed,
will play an important role in further revitalizing land resources,
addressing livelihood shortcomings, expanding community public spaces,
improving community sports facilities,
and promoting national fitness activities.
Residents living in Nanchang Wanli, such as Zhang Xing, have been closely following the construction progress of the community embedded sports venue, expressing their anticipation. “The construction of the embedded sports venue in our community truly fulfills our wish, as we will be able to enjoy professional sports facilities right at our doorstep, which is so convenient.” Zhang Xing said. Citizen Deng Xingyu, besides eagerly awaiting the venue’s opening, also expressed a small hope: “It would be even better if there could be professional sports teachers or coaches to guide us, and regularly organize various sports events after the venue is completed.”

allowing citizens to enjoy high-quality sports services right at their doorstep as soon as possible.” Gong Zheng stated.
