Global leader in visual and artificial intelligence solutions, IMDT, has announced the launch of its latest System on Module (SOM) and Single Board Computer (SBC) products: IMDT V2N SOM and IMDT V2N SBC. These platforms are built on the newly released Renesas RZ/V2N processor, providing cost-effective and energy-efficient solutions for developers looking to accelerate AI-driven visual applications at the edge.

Following the successful launch of the IMDT V2H solution, the new V2N SOM and V2N SBC are designed to make AI-driven embedded systems more applicable across a wider range of applications, including robotics, smart cities, industrial automation, IoT, and smart retail.
The Renesas RZ/V2N processor offers efficient AI capabilities, a quad-core Arm® Cortex®-A55 CPU, and an integrated AI accelerator, while focusing on optimizing power consumption and cost-effectiveness.
Compared to similar products, the IMDT Renesas V2N-based product line delivers up to 15 TOPs (sparse) of AI performance and supports up to two 4-channel MIPI CSI-2 camera connections, making it an ideal choice for cost-sensitive edge AI applications.
“As an official ecosystem partner of Renesas, IMDT is committed to providing scalable, production-ready AI hardware solutions that fully leverage the powerful capabilities of Renesas processors,” said Avi Shimon, CEO of IMDT. “With the launch of our V2N-based SOM and SBC, we are solidifying our role as a trusted provider of edge AI computing platforms, enabling developers to deploy AI applications faster and more efficiently.”
The IMDT V2N SOM offers a modular and flexible AI computing solution, featuring:
• Renesas RZ/V2N processor with four Arm Cortex-A55 (1.8GHz) CPU cores
• Integrated AI accelerator for visual AI workloads (Renesas DRP-AI3)
• Compact form factor (58x36x6mm)
• 2 x 4-channel MIPI CSI-2 camera connections
• 4K encoder/decoder
• Customizable memory (DDR, eMMC), customizable carrier board, and associated software services
The IMDT V2N SBC transforms the V2N SOM into a highly integrated small computer, ideal for rapid AI application development. Key features include:
• Multi-camera solution with up to 2 x 4-channel MIPI CSI
• Internal and external ISPs
• Full connectivity options: M.2 NGFF Key-E for Wi-Fi/AI accelerator, M.2 NGFF Key-B for cellular modules
• 2 x RJ-45 (Gigabit Ethernet), optional PoE
• Small size (125x80x20mm)
• Onboard CAN-FD transceiver
• 6-degree-of-freedom IMU and 3-axis magnetometer for motion sensing
• Comprehensive evaluation kit for rapid prototyping
The V2N product line and its evaluation kits are now available for pre-order.
IMDT continues to bridge the gap between cutting-edge AI technology and practical embedded applications by expanding its Renesas RZ/V series processor product line. The V2N-based SOM and SBC provide developers with a cost-effective and flexible foundation for building visual AI solutions across multiple industries.
