The coal mine operated drilling activities without installing methane sensors
From March 29 to 31, 2025, the Guizhou Bureau of the National Mine Safety Supervision Administration, along with the Bijie City Energy Bureau and the Zhijin County Energy Bureau, conducted law enforcement inspections at the Wengjiaba Mining Co., Ltd. No. 2 Mine. They discovered that the mine had “used a 7300 drilling rig for construction in the 110602 coal mining face transport tunnel without installing methane sensors within a 10m range on the return air side of the drilling rig,” violating the relevant provisions of the ‘Regulations on Prevention and Control of Coal and Gas Outburst’ and the ‘Coal Mine Safety Production Regulations.’
Investigation results: The enterprise was legally ordered to suspend production for 3 days and was fined 1.66 million RMB; the main responsible person of the enterprise was fined 116,000 RMB.
