From September 16 to 19, the finals of the 2025 Sichuan-Chongqing Skilled Workers Vocational Skills Competition in Robot Operation and Intelligent Connected New Energy Vehicle Maintenance were held in Yibin. Zhang Kaifeng, a member of the Party Leadership Group of the Sichuan Provincial Federation of Trade Unions and Director of the Fund Review Committee, attended the closing ceremony and delivered a speech. Liao Jun, a second-level inspector of the Chongqing Municipal Federation of Trade Unions, announced the conclusion of the competition, and Chen Guangyu, a member of the Yibin Municipal Committee and Vice Mayor of the Yibin Municipal Government, gave a speech.
This competition was jointly initiated by the Sichuan Provincial Federation of Trade Unions and the Chongqing Municipal Federation of Trade Unions, organized by the Sichuan Provincial Electromechanical and Coal Industry Trade Union, the Chongqing Mechanical and Metallurgical Trade Union, and the Chongqing National Defense Postal and Telecommunications Trade Union, with the Yibin Municipal Federation of Trade Unions, Yibin Sanjiang New Area Federation of Trade Unions, and Yibin Kaiyi Automobile Co., Ltd. as co-organizers. The competition, themed “Intelligent Collaboration in Sichuan and Chongqing, Competing for Future Innovation,” aims to implement the deployment of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China to “accelerate the construction of national strategic talent forces” and to deeply implement the national strategy for a strong manufacturing country, focusing on the two cutting-edge tracks of robot operation and intelligent connected new energy vehicle maintenance.
The assessment of the two major projects is aligned with the national vocational technical standards for senior workers (national vocational qualification level three) and above, with three modules set up for each project. The theoretical examination tests knowledge reserves, while practical operations assess skill levels, fully empowering and showcasing the comprehensive qualities and professional capabilities of intelligent manufacturing talents.
On the competition field, over 80 skilled elites from Sichuan and Chongqing gathered to showcase their exquisite skills, exchange advanced processes, and stimulate innovative potential. In the intelligent connected new energy vehicle maintenance project, contestants strictly adhered to safety operation regulations, skillfully used various tools, and completed tasks such as vehicle fault detection and maintenance, as well as information security function verification. In the robot operation project, participants also demonstrated solid fundamentals, accurately judged during fault elimination, and exhibited flexibility and precision during programming operations, highlighting their strong technical level. Every meticulous adjustment and focused expression reflected the fighting spirit, pursuit of excellence, and belief in “skills lead to success, skills serve the country” of the new era industrial workers.
After intense competition, the first, second, and third prizes, as well as excellence awards, were announced. Zhang Zhongwei and Li Xin won the first prizes in the intelligent connected new energy vehicle maintenance project and the robot operation project, respectively.
The holding of this competition is an important practice for the two regions of Sichuan and Chongqing to collaboratively promote the reform of the industrial worker team construction and to serve the construction of the Chengdu-Chongqing economic circle. Taking this competition as an opportunity, Sichuan and Chongqing will further improve the training, utilization, and evaluation mechanisms for skilled talents, create a better environment for the growth and success of technical workers, and continuously deepen cooperation in technological innovation, talent exchange, and industry-education integration, jointly building a hub for intelligent manufacturing talents in the western region, providing solid talent support for promoting high-quality development.
