On the afternoon of September 19, 2025, the Low Altitude Economy Committee of the Wuhan University Shenzhen Alumni Association and a delegation from the Shenzhen Research Institute visited Cyborg Robotics Co., Ltd. in Shenzhen. The delegation included Wen Weiwu, a member of the Wuhan University Board, Secretary General of the Wuhan University Shenzhen Alumni Association, and Vice Dean of the Shenzhen Research Institute, Xiao Moyin; Huang Xiaoming, Chairman of the Low Altitude Economy Committee and Chief Scientist of Space Networks at the Shenzhen Research Institute; and Chen Yongguang, Co-Chairman of the Low Altitude Economy Committee and Chief Industry Planner at the Shenzhen Research Institute. They engaged in friendly discussions with Dr. Wang Jinlong, Chief Consultant of Cyborg Company, Dr. Dong Dianbiao, Co-Founder and CEO, Dr. Zhang Huaidong, Co-Founder, and alumnus Li Jun, among other leaders. Alumnus Li Jun participated throughout and provided explanations.

Cyborg Robotics Company showcased a bipedal humanoid robot standing 178 cm tall and weighing 70 kg (as shown in the picture). Dr. Wang Jinlong introduced the main application scenarios of the company’s robots, which are primarily designed to replace humans in hazardous environments that are harsh, toxic, or harmful. The robot’s dexterous hands feature flexibility, high degrees of freedom, and strong load-bearing capabilities. The company has already filed dozens of patents, and the robot development is mainly focused on the direction of “dual reduction”—reducing weight and reducing costs.

During the discussion session, Dr. Dong Dianbiao mainly introduced the company’s business development direction. He stated that since its establishment in 2024, the company has primarily focused on the field of full-size, heavy-load bionic robots, with application scenarios mainly in industrial operations under harsh or dangerous conditions. In terms of degrees of freedom, Cyborg Robotics is at the national leading level.
Xiao Moyin introduced the main situation of the Wuhan University Shenzhen Research Institute, emphasizing the work carried out focusing on the national strategy of low altitude economy. He highly recognized and praised Cyborg Company’s performance in team formation and composition, technological innovation and product development, as well as market positioning, and expressed hope for future cooperation in technology, talent, application scenarios, and investment. This proposal received unanimous agreement from both parties. A preliminary agreement was reached to quickly sign a cooperation agreement between the university and the enterprise for industry-university-research collaboration.
After the seminar, the Wuhan University Alumni Association and the Shenzhen Research Institute delegation also had in-depth exchanges with the heads of member units of the Shenzhen Robotics Association.
