Shenzhen 3D Printing Exhibition
Recently, the Shenzhen International 3D Printing, Additive Manufacturing, and Precision Molding Exhibition grandly opened, gathering over 300 global enterprises to showcase cutting-edge equipment and comprehensive solutions. Zhang Manfeng, Executive President of the Guangdong Footwear Manufacturers Association, Secretary General Zheng Danni, and Director Sun Weizhong were invited to visit the exhibition and explored the innovative applications of 3D printing technology in shoe design and manufacturing with participating companies such as Boli and Dazhu.
This exhibition features a special area for footwear applications, where several 3D printing mold equipment manufacturers, material suppliers, and shoe manufacturers demonstrated how additive manufacturing technology enhances cushioning, breathability, and production efficiency while achieving more environmentally friendly production methods.
During the exhibition, Executive President Zhang Manfeng represented the association at the “Cutting-edge 3D Printing Footwear Innovation Technology and Application Forum” to promote the group standard for “3D Printed Shoes,” clarifying the technical path and standardizing product requirements from a standardization perspective, helping enterprises advance research and development and production more efficiently. He stated that the introduction of this group standard aims to guide the industry towards a standardized, orderly, and high-quality development track, providing clear guidance for enterprises.
As the President of the Guangdong Footwear Manufacturers Association, founder of Guangdong Jiuliu Mi Fashion Technology Co., Ltd., and General Manager of the Cabin Clothing Footwear Division, Xu Rongjin has long been committed to promoting the in-depth application of 3D printing technology in the footwear industry. Inspired by international exhibitions since 2010, he has led his team through ten years of technical challenges, successfully developing and mass-producing 3D printed sports shoes, establishing an automated smart factory with a daily production capacity of 3,000 pairs, significantly improving research and development efficiency, reducing production costs, and showcasing environmental advantages.
As an industry leader, President Xu Rongjin leads the formulation of the group standard for “3D Printed Shoes,” organizing experts to scientifically standardize production processes and technical indicators, establishing industry quality benchmarks, and helping Chinese enterprises transition from “manufacturing” to “intelligent manufacturing,” enhancing their international competitive voice.
The association representatives visited the participating member units at the exhibition—Boli Technology and Dazhu Laser—to gain detailed insights into their breakthroughs in shoe mold printing, personalized customization, and functional materials. Executive President Zhang Manfeng pointed out that the association will continue to play a bridging role, promoting member enterprises to connect with high-tech units, accelerating the application of technological achievements in the traditional footwear industry.
This visit and exchange not only reflect the association’s high attention to industry innovation trends but also demonstrate that 3D printing technology is becoming an important engine for the transformation and upgrading of the footwear industry. In the future, the association will continue to promote cross-border cooperation and standard construction, helping the footwear industry seize new opportunities for digital and intelligent development.
