This is the Starway Yaoguang C-DM Global Version beside me. The so-called Global Version is Starway’s new answer to the new situation, new ecology, and new strategies. In simple terms, this Yaoguang C-DM Global Version is an annual facelift with a larger cup size.

[ ·1· Excellent Static Experience ]
As an annual facelift, this car upgrades more of the “inner workings” rather than the “outer appearance.” After all, its exterior doesn’t have much that needs upgrading. The front features a large, continuous silver trim and a laser radar-style decorative panel, creating a harmonious and unified look. The front end is fine, the side has a standard SUV shape, and the large continuous taillights at the rear make the body appear wider, while the four exhaust decorations below look quite imposing.
Entering the car, the overall color scheme is quite stylish, primarily in gray, with a natural transition from dark gray to light gray. The front row is equipped with two screens: the central instrument display provides ample information, while the right central control screen is sufficiently smooth, although there is room for improvement in the UI logic of vehicle settings.
Now, let’s look at the space. The front row headroom is about two fists, which is quite good. However, the seats only have height adjustment and backrest adjustment, lacking leg support and lumbar support adjustments, which is a slight disappointment. The rear row also performs well, with one fist of headroom and three fists of legroom. The seating position is very comfortable, the seats are slightly firm, providing good support, and both legs and feet can stretch out fully, with the backrest also adjustable for a more relaxed seating experience.
[ ·2· Energy-Saving and Good Driving Experience]
In terms of dynamics, the upgrades of the Global Version are significant. The battery capacity has increased to 19.53 kWh, and the CLTC pure electric range has improved to 120 kilometers, allowing for a week of commuting on a single charge, making it feasible to use as a pure electric vehicle. Even without charging, the 1.5T hybrid engine achieves a fuel consumption of 3-4 liters per 100 kilometers, which is very economical.
During previous test drives of Chery’s new energy vehicles, I always felt they were too soft, completely smoothing out road bumps. However, the Yaoguang’s chassis surprised me greatly. It still emphasizes comfort but retains a certain firmness, with a tighter chassis that provides ample driving confidence, which is commendable.
Unfortunately, this test drive vehicle did not include advanced driver assistance systems, currently only supporting lane-keeping assist, which offers limited relief from fatigue during long highway drives. However, the 25 model Yaoguang’s top configuration already includes highway assistance capabilities, and I believe the high-end models of the Global Version will not fall behind.

In summary, the larger battery brings a longer pure electric range, ensuring daily usability, while the driving quality remains stable, ensuring that the Global Version can provide a good experience, and the price is also trending downwards.
