Overview of Secondary Distribution in Semiconductor Costing

Introduction to Secondary Distribution

Secondary distribution engineering refers to the work completed by the secondary distribution contractor from the reserved interface of the factory process pipeline to the interface of the process equipment when the process equipment arrives on site. The work includes the connection and support of systems such as bulk gases, PV, HV, PCW, RO, UPW, wastewater, exhaust, electricity, etc., specifically based on the requirements of the process segment equipmentUT and the actual site survey conditions.

Domestic Manufacturers of Secondary Distribution

Currently, the main domestic manufacturers include Eleven Technology, China Electronics No. 2, Baicheng System, China Electronics No. 4, Yaxiang Integration, and Hantang Integration. With the continuous growth of the domestic market, the market share of domestic manufacturers in secondary distribution will continue to expand, potentially leading to the emergence of new units, while also fostering sufficient market competition in secondary distribution engineering, ultimately leaving the most cost-effective units.

Common Materials Used in Secondary Distribution

Common pipeline, fittings, and valve materials for bulk gases include:SUS316L EP(5S/10S), SUS316L BA(5S/10S), SUS304 BA(5S/10S), etc.;

Common pipeline, fittings, and valve materials for PV, PCW, and GW include:SUS304 BA(5S/10S) CLEANING, etc.;

Common pipeline, fittings, and valve materials for wastewater include:SUS304 BA 5S, UPVC SCH80, PPH, CPVC SCH80, etc.;

Common pipeline, fittings, and valve materials for exhaust include:SUS304, FM PVC, SUS304 lined with ECTFE, etc.;

Common pipeline, fittings, and valve materials for UPW include:PVDF, PFA, Clean PVC, GALVANIZED SHEET, etc.;

Quotation Forms and Settlement Methods for Secondary Distribution

The commonly used quotation form is still based on a fixed total price, using the owner’s requirements such as UT, with the contractor independently deepening the specifications and detailed engineering quantities. The settlement is based on the contract total price+ changes, with changes audited based on the unit price of the points in the contract and the combined form of changed points.

It has been understood that some manufacturers with strict cost control requirements also adopt a unit price settlement model, calculating the actual construction quantity multiplied by the detailed unit price in the contract for item-by-item settlement. This model allows for strict cost control and is closer to actual costs, but it requires a higher demand for personnel such as engineers.

Data is extensive and has not yet been fully compiled~

Note: Due to the current opacity of secondary distribution costs and the varying requirements of different types of factories regarding brands, materials, layouts, and process equipment, it is difficult to establish fixed standard parameters. Considering the confidentiality nature of semiconductor units, more detailed empirical data will not be shared this time.
