Released during the International Consumer Electronics Show, the OX01E20 is OmniVision’s latest and most advanced automotive SoC for SVS and RVC, pin-to-pin compatible with the current generation of 1.3-megapixel designs.
Santa Clara, California – January 4, 2023 – OmniVision, a leading developer of semiconductor solutions for advanced digital imaging, analog, touch screen, and display technologies, announced the launch of its new 1.3-megapixel OX01E20 system-on-chip (SoC) for automotive 360-degree surround view systems (SVS) and rear view cameras (RVC). The OX01E20 brings industry-leading LED flicker mitigation (LFM) and 140dB high dynamic range (HDR) capabilities to OmniVision’s automotive single-chip image sensor and signal processing solution portfolio.
Mark Fitzgerald, Director of Autonomous Vehicle Research at Strategy Analytics, a subsidiary of TechInsights, stated: “The content per vehicle continues to drive growth in the ADAS market. For manufacturers looking to provide convenient ADAS solutions to customers, high-performance, low-power, compact surround view and rear view camera solutions are highly attractive.”

Paul Wu, Automotive Market Manager at OmniVision, stated: “Automakers want the next generation of vehicles to have excellent LFM, HDR, and low-light performance. Our newly designed OX01E20 SoC meets their needs. The OX01E20 is pin-to-pin compatible with the previous generation of 1.3-megapixel automotive SoCs, allowing for quick and easy upgrades to higher performance. In fact, our OX01E20 SoC design has already gained the trust of several major automotive manufacturers.”
The OX01E20 provides excellent imaging performance for SVS and RVC, capable of handling various harsh lighting conditions, while also featuring a compact form factor and low power consumption. In a single 1/4-inch optical format package, the OX01E20 integrates a 3-micron image sensor, advanced image signal processor (ISP), as well as full distortion correction/perspective correction (DC/PC) and on-screen display (OSD), enabling designers to achieve small size, excellent low-light performance, ultra-low power consumption, and low cost, while the OX01E20 can operate with just a single PCB, enhancing the reliability of the camera module.

Key features that make the OX01E20 stand out from competitor solutions:
01
Industry-leading 140dB HDR and LFM capabilities
02
Excellent HDR and LFM performance across the automotive temperature range
03
Advanced ISP, including DC/PC and OSD
04
Utilizes a-CSP technology for compact solutions
05
Low power consumption
06
Based on OmniVision’s PureCelĀ® Plus architecture, which offers excellent low-light sensitivity and high signal-to-noise ratio
