Chinese Silicate Society Advanced Inorganic Fiber Branch/

National Glass Fiber Professional Information Network

The Advanced Inorganic Fiber Branch of the Chinese Silicate Society (formerly the Glass Fiber Branch) was established in 1979, originally as the Glass Fiber Specialized Committee of the Chinese Silicate Society. The Chinese Silicate Society is an important component of the China Association for Science and Technology, and the Advanced Inorganic Fiber Branch is a professional and authoritative academic organization in the field of advanced inorganic fibers and their products, including high-performance glass fibers, carbon fibers, basalt fibers, quartz fibers, alumina fibers, and silicon carbide fibers.

The National Glass Fiber Professional Information Network was established in 1976 and is one of more than ten information networks set up by the Information Department of the National Building Materials Bureau. It is also the only information service organization in the building materials system that has persisted and continued to operate to this day.

For decades, the Advanced Inorganic Fiber Branch of the Chinese Silicate Society/National Glass Fiber Information Network, with the strong support and collaboration of the Secretariat’s host unit, Nanjing Fiberglass Research and Design Institute, and numerous council and member units, has focused on functions such as “promoting technological progress, resisting market risks, coordinating development resources, and providing professional services,” firmly grasping high-quality development to guide the overall situation, establishing and solidifying the concept of developing and serving members, deeply cultivating industry service work, and carrying out a large number of activities in academic exchanges, organizing technical training, providing technical consulting, adhering to standard leadership, enhancing member services, editing and publishing scientific journals, strengthening industry communication, recommending talents, and popularizing science.

At the same time, the Advanced Inorganic Fiber Branch of the Chinese Silicate Society/National Glass Fiber Information Network collaborates with the National Glass Fiber Standardization Technical Committee, the only scientific journal in the industry, “Advanced Inorganic Fibers” (formerly “Glass Fibers”), and the Glass Fiber Craftsman Academy to jointly carry out glass fiber standardization work, scientific paper services, and training for glass fiber craftsmen and industrial workers. Currently, the Advanced Inorganic Fiber Branch of the Chinese Silicate Society/National Glass Fiber Information Network has become an authoritative academic organization in the field of advanced inorganic fibers in China, making significant contributions to leading the high-quality development of the industry.
