On August 26, the Guangdong Province Conference on the Release of Innovative Products and Services in the Artificial Intelligence and Robotics Industry (Foshan Session) and the Foshan High-Quality Development Conference for the Intelligent Robotics Industry were held in Foshan. The “Several Measures to Accelerate the Development of the Intelligent Robotics Industry in Foshan” were released, sending a strong signal for Foshan to promote the development of the intelligent robotics industry.
“Artificial intelligence and robotics are at the forefront of the technological revolution and are the core engine for Foshan’s manufacturing industry to move towards high-end transformation,” said Wei Guangsheng, Chief Economist of the Foshan Municipal Bureau of Industry and Information Technology. Currently, there are over 100 enterprises in the robotics field in Nanhai District, including more than 50 companies involved in manufacturing, components, and system integration, 44 specialized and innovative enterprises, with a total industrial output value exceeding 8 billion yuan, forming a pattern of coordinated development of industrial robots, service robots, and special robots.
Based on the foundation and endowments of the robotics industry in Nanhai District,Nanhai will focus on building a self-controllable domestic robot industrial chain and industrial cluster as the main line of work, through “double recruitment and double introduction,” focusing on integrated application innovation and core component manufacturing, to create an innovation and cultivation highland for the robotics industry in Foshan.
In terms of development goals, Nanhai will advance in phases: by 2026, the revenue of robotics-related industries will exceed 10 billion yuan, the robotics industry ecosystem will be basically established, and the industrial chain will be basically formed; by 2030, the revenue of the robotics industry in the entire district will exceed 35 billion yuan, establishing a robotics industry cluster with industry-leading roles.
To ensure the achievement of these goals, Nanhai will alsolaunch nine major special support measures targeting the four key links of artificial intelligence: “technological innovation, financial support, industry cultivation, and market application,” in coordination with municipal policies, to construct a policy support matrix covering the entire industrial lifecycle.

Since 2022, Huashu Robotics has invested 500 million yuan to build the Nanhai Intelligent Robotics Innovation Park, in collaboration with the Foshan Intelligent Equipment Technology Research Institute,forming a complete industrial chain of “R&D—pilot production—mass production—marketization” in Nanhai.

Zhou Xing expressed hope that in the next three years, the park will achieve the “2222” strategic goal, including an annual output value of 2 billion yuan, the settlement of 20 high-tech enterprises, annual sales of 20,000 robots, and training of 20,000 talents per year.

The large industrial base means that at least 10,000 enterprises can become upstream and downstream partners for AI robotics companies, providing full-chain support from core components to integrated applications.
Second, Nanhai can find tens of thousands of robotics engineers, ensuring long-term growth. Innovation is the primary driving force, and Nanhai has 33 innovation platforms, many of which are related to robotics projects. Nanhai also has 782 provincial engineering centers, many of which are related to robotics projects. At the same time, relying on eight universities in the region and a talent pool of 74,000 students, it has already trained over 10,000 engineers related to robotics.
