MATLAB R2024a Installation Guide for Mac

The installation tutorial for Intel and M chips is the same, just the keys are different. Don’t mind the inconsistency in images, the images here are based on the M version as an example.

1. After downloading the installation package, open it and click Agree ⚠️ You need to disable SIP before installation to succeed🏆

2. Double-click to open [1.matlab_R20…dmg]

3. Double-click [Install] to start installationIf the installer prompts an error or shows a blank window, just close the installer and reopen it

4. Click [Advanced Options] — [I have a file installation key]

5. Agree to the license, click [Yes], then click [Next]

6. Go back to the installation package, double-click to open [Installation Key.txt]

7. As shown in the image, copy it to the corresponding position and click [Next]

8. Click [Next], no need to enter any information !!

9. The installation location is default, just click [Next]

10. Click [Next], if a pop-up appears, enter the startup password

11. Uncheck the box, click [Next]

12. Click [Start Installation]

13. Wait for the installation to complete

14. After installation, new computers or those that have never installed MATLAB may encounter this error, which is because the software needs to run with the Java environment (click [Close] first)

15. Go back to the installation package, double-click [2.MathWorks MATLAB R2024a v24…]

16. Click [Continue]

17. Select the activation patch according to your chip, I checked ARM for M chip, click [Continue]

18. Click [Install]

19. Installation successful, click [Close]

20. Installation complete, open [Launchpad]

21. Open the software

22.If you haven’t installed Java, you will encounter the following error when running the software. This installation package provides the Java environment for M chips, see the next step for installation

To fix this error, you can visit the prompt link or manually visit Java.com

Download the corresponding version of Java, and make sure to restart after installing Java.

23.M chip Java environment: double-click to install [3.java11-aarch64.pkg]

24. Click [Continue]

25. Click [Install]

26. Installation successful. Click [Close]. Then make sure to restart the computer

27. After restarting and opening the software, click [Advanced Options] — [I want to use a license file]

28. Open the installation package, drag [4.license.lie] to the desktop

29. Click [Browse]

30. Select the file just dragged to the desktop and click [Open]

31. Click [Activate]

32. When activation is completed, click [Close]

33. Reopen the software, MATLAB 2024 is ready to use!
