Focusing on Key Industrial Chains | Review of Non-Mainstream Display Technologies

With the advancement of a new round of technological revolution and industrial transformation, the concept of new productive forces—new quality productivity—has taken center stage in history. New quality productivity is characterized by innovation playing a leading role, breaking away from traditional economic growth methods and paths of productivity development, featuring high technology, high efficiency, and high quality, aligning with the advanced productive force characteristics of the new development concept.

New quality productivity represents the evolutionary direction of advanced productivity and has quietly emerged across various industries. In today’s ubiquitous display industry, a new round of technological revolution and innovation is also unfolding around new quality productivity.

Currently, new display technologies represented by TFT-LCD and AMOLED are the main forces in the display industry. The most mainstream display application products still focus on mobile phones, pads, laptops, monitors, and televisions, which have relatively fixed requirements for display devices and materials. However, for some non-mainstream applications, due to the varying application scenarios, personalized requirements are placed on panel manufacturers and material suppliers, necessitating unconventional solutions for these non-mainstream application scenarios.

It is reported that the DIC AWARD 2024 International Display Technology Innovation Award has recently entered the public announcement stage, showcasing various innovative non-mainstream technologies and products.

In the equipment category submissions for the DIC AWARD 2024 International Display Technology Innovation Award, SMC submitted the “Energy-Saving Pressure Boosting Valve.” For screw-type and piston-type air compressors, typically, lowering the output pressure by 0.1MPa can save 7-10% of electricity consumption. Currently, 95% of equipment in panel factories requires pressure below 0.5MPa, with only 5% needing above that pressure. The SMC energy-saving pressure boosting valve can provide localized boosting in areas where high pressure is needed, allowing factories to lower the output pressure of air compressors and reduce operating costs. This energy-saving pressure boosting valve has a positive impact on saving energy, enhancing product competitiveness, and contributing to the national agenda for green and energy-saving development.
