Environment Monitoring System for Cattle Barns Based on STM32

1. Background SignificanceWith the advancement of agricultural modernization, monitoring and regulating the environment in cattle barns has become crucial for improving dairy farming efficiency. Traditional monitoring methods are not only time-consuming and labor-intensive but also difficult to achieve real-time monitoring. The environment monitoring system designed based on STM32 can monitor environmental parameters such as temperature, humidity, and ammonia concentration in real-time, and transmit this data to a PC via Wi-Fi network, enabling remote monitoring and adjustment. This system helps reduce the incidence of diseases in dairy cows, improve calf survival rates, and ultimately enhance farming economic benefits.2. Theoretical PrinciplesThe system is based on the STM32 microcontroller, combined with the SHT11 temperature and humidity sensor and the MQ135 ammonia sensor, to collect environmental data in the cattle barn in real-time. The collected data is converted into digital signals through the ADC module of the STM32, and then transmitted to the PC via the Wi-Fi module. After receiving the data, the PC software stores, displays, and performs threshold judgments. If the environmental parameters exceed the set range, the system controls related devices, such as fans and humidifiers, through relays to adjust the barn environment.Environment Monitoring System for Cattle Barns Based on STM32Environment Monitoring System for Cattle Barns Based on STM323. Experimental System and ConditionsThe experimental system consists of the STM32 microcontroller, sensor module, Wi-Fi module, relay control module, and PC software. The experimental conditions simulate the barn environment, including variations in temperature, humidity, and ammonia concentration. By adjusting related devices, the changes in environmental parameters within the barn are simulated to verify the system’s real-time monitoring and adjustment capabilities.Environment Monitoring System for Cattle Barns Based on STM324. Experimental Results and AnalysisThe experimental results indicate that the system can accurately collect environmental parameters within the barn and transmit them in real-time to the PC via the Wi-Fi network. When the environmental parameters exceed the set range, the system can respond quickly and control related devices through relays for adjustment. After multiple tests, the system’s stability and accuracy meet the expected requirements..5. ConclusionThe STM32-based cattle barn environment monitoring system features real-time monitoring, remote control, and automatic adjustment capabilities, effectively improving dairy farming efficiency. The system has a simple structure, is easy to implement, and possesses high practical value and promotion prospects.
