Introduction:

To deepen the effectiveness of integrating industry and education, and to build a bridge between professional cognition and industry practice, on November 26, 45 students from the IoT Engineering program of the School of Computer Science and Engineering at Guangzhou University of Technology, led by teacher Jin Ziyang, visited Yueqian Technology for a field cognitive internship. This experience extended classroom theoretical learning to the front line of industrial practice, allowing students to closely explore the application of IoT technology and the operational models of enterprises.

During the internship, Teacher Zhang Xiaobin from Yueqian Technology provided comprehensive explanations, covering the company’s development history, core business layout, and the structure of the technical research and development team, as well as the entire project operation process. This showcased the actual operational scenarios of IoT enterprises. In the equipment research and testing workshop, students observed hands-on activities such as sensor debugging, IoT gateway setup, and data platform operation and maintenance, gaining close contact with cutting-edge industry equipment and intuitively understanding the complete link from design conception to application implementation, deepening their recognition of the practical value of professional technology.

In response to students’ concerns about career development directions, Teacher Cai Jiaxiang from Yueqian Technology combined his recruitment experience to focus on interpreting the core competency requirements for IoT positions, which include practical equipment skills, problem-solving abilities, teamwork skills, and cross-domain communication skills. He also explained the advantages of competition experience in resume screening and interview assessments, clarifying the intrinsic connection between competition value and career competitiveness. During the visit, students actively asked questions based on what they learned in class, engaging in in-depth discussions with technical personnel about topics such as the project development cycle, career advancement paths in technical positions, and conditions for applying for internship opportunities, creating a lively interactive atmosphere and achieving significant knowledge absorption.

Conclusion

This on-site enterprise study helped students break out of the limitations of textbook knowledge, achieving a deep connection between classroom theory and industrial practice. Students expressed that through immersive observation and face-to-face communication, they not only clearly grasped the industry application scenarios of professional technology but also further clarified their future career development directions, accumulating valuable practical experience for subsequent professional learning and career planning.
