With the further implementation of national environmental protection regulations, electronic fuel injection systems will be fully applied to domestic motorcycles. This will fundamentally change the diagnosis and repair methods in the repair industry. The current replacement comparison method will become increasingly difficult, even unsustainable; using diagnostic repair tools is inevitable. Diagnostic equipment for EFI systems and oscilloscopes, which have never been used in past repairs, will become standard configurations for repairs in the EFI era.
Diagnostic equipment indicates the fault range, while oscilloscopes display the faulty components. Data streams and waveform patterns can be dazzling, not to mention how to read and interpret the data from these devices, which has become another new challenge and professional difficulty faced by motorcycle repair technicians.
We know that diagnostic equipment can display various states of the vehicle’s EFI system, but not every state will indicate that a problem exists (such as intermittent faults), which is mainly restricted by the design of the control program for the EFI system.
For example, if the basic position of the throttle position sensor is 5%, it is still an EFI system fault, but no EFI diagnostic equipment will indicate that “a fault exists.” How to deal with such situations?
Oscilloscope equipment is known as the ultimate weapon in EFI repair work. However, the relatively complex interface operation and waveform reading and analysis skills have deterred many repair technicians who wish to use this equipment. The basic entry difficulty of oscilloscopes is relatively high, which is a significant headache in the industry. This is also an important reason why the diagnostic technology of oscilloscopes has not been popularized for many years in the EFI era of the automotive industry.
In view of this, Jinan Che Shen Motorcycle (Motorcycle Friends World) invites Shanghai Hexun Electromechanical Engineering Co., Ltd., a member unit of the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce Motorcycle Parts and Supplies Industry Association with technical service qualifications in the automotive and motorcycle industry, to jointly hold a technical training workshop on “Application of Oscilloscope Equipment and Diagnostic Equipment in Motorcycle EFI Systems” for domestic motorcycle repair technicians to cope with new technologies. Specific learning content can be found in Attachment 1.
To ensure the quality of learning, the training location is in Hefei, Anhui. Registration is now open, and students are requested to bring their own oscilloscope and EFI diagnostic instrument for on-site practical explanations.
