Highlights
The IoT Application Technology major is a key construction program of the school, an important major within the Artificial Intelligence Technology Application program group, and a collaborative major under the Ministry of Education’s second phase of the supply-demand matching employment education project.

Major Overview
This major primarily addresses issues related to IoT engineering design and management, system equipment operation and debugging, and terminal application development, focusing on the comprehensive application of technology, enabling students to acquire skills in IoT system deployment and operation, as well as IoT application software development.

Training Objectives
This major targets the IoT and information technology industries, equipping students with theoretical knowledge and technical skills in IoT application technology, as well as strong employment and entrepreneurial capabilities, to engage in high-quality technical and skilled work in IoT system equipment installation and debugging, IoT engineering design and management, IoT system deployment and operation, and IoT application software development.

Off-Campus Internship Bases
This major has established in-depth cooperation with companies such as Unilumin Technology, Hikvision, Weizhong Zhichuang, and Newland, creating more than ten off-campus internship bases, including Unilumin Technology Internship Base, Weizhong Zhichuang Internship Base, and Newland Internship Base, providing a solid platform for students to enhance their professional skills.

Faculty Team
The program has a strong faculty team, consisting of well-structured teachers with rich theoretical teaching and practical experience. There are 7 full-time teachers, including 4 with senior titles, 2 with intermediate titles, and 1 teaching assistant, along with 6 key teachers and 6 dual-qualified teachers; there are also 5 part-time teachers who are outstanding engineers from the IT industry and enterprises, possessing rich work experience.

Skills Competitions
The faculty team guides students to participate in various levels of competitions, achieving good results. Notable achievements include a second prize in the IoT Application Development category at the Hubei Vocational College Skills Competition; a second prize and a third prize in the first BRICS Skills Development and Technological Innovation Competition for software applications and development based on the Xinchuang platform; a third prize in the Central China region of the BRICS Vocational Skills Competition (BRICS Future Skills Challenge) in the IoT category; two silver awards and three bronze awards in the third Hubei University Student Xinchuang Competition for the higher vocational group in the database and application development track; and a second prize in the national competition of the sixth National College Computer Ability Challenge, along with one second prize and two third prizes in the Hubei region.
