Zhongke Benyuan has successfully developed the second generation of the RISC-V architecture 32-bit floating-point DSP core, SummerCore™, which is optimized for real-time control. Its performance reaches five times that of the TI C28x core and can be widely applied in industrial control, new energy, electric vehicles, and power electronics scenarios.
SummerCore adopts the RV32IMAFCB-Ext instruction set architecture, significantly increasing the number of domain-specific extension instructions to 227, including trigonometric calculations, fast Fourier transforms, Viterbi decoding, cyclic redundancy checks, fast integer division, and Galois field computations, compared to the company’s previous generation core, SpringCore™. SummerCore implements a static dual-issue seven-stage pipeline structure and integrates enhanced computing modules such as TMU, VCU, VCRC, and FINTDIV, along with an independent Control Law Accelerator (CLA) that handles time-sensitive events, freeing up the main core’s performance to concurrently process other system and communication tasks. SummerCore can operate at a frequency of up to 500MHz, achieving a peak computing performance of 1000MIPS, which is five times the performance of TI’s C28x core (200MIPS).
