For DIY enthusiasts, a soldering iron is an essential tool. Manually applying solder really tests your skills; I can’t manage it well, always feeling like I don’t have enough hands—holding the wire, gripping the soldering iron, and trying to apply solder all at once is a terrible experience. That’s why I discovered this project that prints a solder reel. It uses very little material, is completely 3D printed, and can be assembled and used after just 3 hours of printing. Once I used it, I couldn’t live without it. I highly recommend that anyone who enjoys soldering print one now; you’ll thank me later. I feel like this 50g of material has never been more valuable.

This project has been officially recommended by the P station, with 45,000 downloads and prints in just one year, truly outstanding.
Here are a few photos of the usage to tempt you.

Perfect grip.

Convenient for both left and right hands.

There are quite a few parts, all small, allowing for color customization. The design is clever, material-saving, with no excess material wasted.
Installation is also very simple.

Just install the gears and snap the lid on.

There is also a dedicated wire spool, lightweight, and this small roll will last for a while.

The appearance after installation allows you to adjust the nut to control the pressure of the gears on the solder wire, accommodating different sizes of solder wire.
When in use, simply rotate the gear with your index finger to precisely control the feed and retraction of the solder. It’s very natural and truly ergonomic in design.
