With the advancement of technology, smart products have penetrated every aspect of our lives. Unbeknownst to us, smart TVs and smart speakers are increasingly capable of performing various tasks, while more and more household items are gradually becoming intelligent.
Recently, Samsung has added a new indoor camera, a WiFi smart plug, and a smart bulb to its range of smart products.
This indoor camera features full HD and HDR capabilities—additionally, it has a 145-degree field of view, providing a larger monitoring range than other cameras, and can capture footage in the dark using night vision. It also has a motion detection feature that can distinguish between people (in other words, actual potential threats in your home) and the movements of pets or passing vehicles. This allows users to customize notifications they wish to receive through the SmartThings app. It is currently priced at $89.99 (approximately 618 RMB).
The SmartThings WiFi smart plug is a simple smart plug that helps users turn on or off lights, small appliances, and other electronic devices, and set schedules for them, making them smart. It can also turn them into voice-activated devices, working in conjunction with Bixby, Google Assistant, and Amazon Alexa. It is currently priced at $17.99 (approximately 123 RMB).
The SmartThings bulb is also compatible with these voice assistants, allowing users to control it via voice and create personal automations through the SmartThings app. It is priced at $9.99 (approximately 68 RMB).
In addition to Samsung, Xiaomi’s Mijia is also focused on releasing smart home products. Today, Xiaomi launched a new smart lock—the Mijia Smart Lock with a sliding design. It is now available for purchase at a price of 1699 RMB.
Unlike previous Xiaomi Mijia smart locks, this sliding design integrates the fingerprint module with the handle, allowing for one-step door opening and closing. The door automatically locks when closed, and the lock cylinder has a built-in electronic sensor that sends alerts to your phone or bracelet in case of abnormal situations such as forced entry or if the key is left in the lock.
Additionally, it supports six unlocking methods: fingerprint, password, mobile Bluetooth, mechanical key, NFC, and temporary password. It also supports integration with all smart home devices, allowing users to adjust all smart devices with a simple push of the door.
Recently, ZTE also released an 8K smart set-top box. It is equipped with a quad-core 64-bit processor with a frequency of 2.0GHz, supports 8K video decoding, and can provide an ultra-high-definition video experience, as well as smart voice interaction features, allowing users to perform low-power voice wake-up and remote control operations at any time.
Although smart homes may not seem very different, it must be said that today’s smart homes have significantly improved our quality of life and even changed our way of living.
