Previously set up Ubuntu Server 22.04 and Docker Redroid cloud phone
Just one more Windows system is needed to complete the trio of cloud server, cloud phone, and cloud desktop
The built-in emulation technology of Windows 11 ARM version allows running unmodified x86 and x64 Windows applications on ARM devices
It should be noted that the performance of these applications may not match that on the native platform
After testing, WeChat, Chrome, and some daily software can work normally
Hardware allocation
-
Allocated 1 core 4 CPUs
-
Allocated 4GB of memory
In terms of experience, the CPU generally occupies about 70% during operation, and memory usage is around 80%
There will be a waiting period when installing and starting software
When using WeChat and Chrome browser, there is no noticeable lag, and the experience is relatively smooth (running a desktop system on ARM with 4GB of memory is already quite good)
Other software has not been tested yet, and gaming is not considered; Windows is only used for GUI automation and system backup
The three major operating systems: Linux, Windows, Mac
Running MacOS in an ARM environment with insufficient performance and incomplete ecosystem is somewhat forced
Below are projects that can run MacOS in Docker under AMD64 or x86_64
https://github.com/sickcodes/Docker-OSX
New project
https://github.com/kholia/OSX-KVM
Run macOS on QEMU/KVM, now supports OpenCore + Big Sur + Monterey + Ventura.
This is just a record; ARM PVE does not consider MacOS
Setting up the cloud trio also excludes MacOS
Remaining some daily systems
-
Soft router OpenWrt
-
Black Synology NAS (DSM)
-
Smart home (HomeAssistant)
Will try again when I have time
