Research Institute Participates in the Third Quarter Work Meeting of the Artificial Intelligence and Robotics Industry Chain in the Development Zone
On September 16, the third quarter work meeting of the artificial intelligence and robotics industry chain in Jinhua Development Zone was held. Zhu Weifeng, member of the Party Working Committee of the Development Zone and leader of the robotics industry chain, attended the meeting. Representatives from the Economic Development Department, various investment attraction bureaus, and key enterprises and service organizations were present. The Jinhua Innovation Joint Research Institute of Zhejiang University of Technology, as the leading unit of the robotics industry alliance, participated in the meeting. The meeting focused on discussing solutions to the pain points of the industry chain.

At the beginning of the meeting, Ni Jie, the first rotating chairman of the robotics industry alliance and president of Zhejiang Green Source Electric Vehicle Co., Ltd., welcomed the leaders, departments, and enterprise representatives. He pointed out that the robotics industry alliance is a key platform for promoting deep integration of industry, academia, and research. The research directions and goals of the alliance members are aligned, which will surely open new paths for the development of the robotics industry. He emphasized that as a “newcomer” in the robotics industry, Green Source places great importance on collaborative innovation with sensor and control technology companies, hoping to break through technical bottlenecks through complementary advantages and collaborative efforts, jointly promoting the development of the Jinhua robotics industry cluster and creating a robotics industry ecosystem with Jinhua characteristics.

During the meeting, Miao Yang, vice president of the research institute, reported on the progress and annual work plan of the robotics industry alliance on behalf of the secretariat, clarifying aspects such as the alliance’s self-construction and services, industry collaboration and ecosystem building, technological innovation and achievement transformation, talent cultivation and introduction, application promotion, and market development.

Subsequently, the development zone provided a detailed introduction to policies related to artificial intelligence and robotics industries. Yu Shupeng, an expert from China Unicom, discussed “Exploring the Path of Artificial Intelligence Empowering Intelligent Manufacturing,” while Zeng Xu, director of the Anheng Information Hunting Laboratory, shared the recent developments of Anheng Information in AI. Qian Yuping, general manager of Unasci, introduced the company profile and core products.

Professor Dong Hui, director of the research institute, introduced the development progress and next steps of the “quadruped robot.” He stated that the pure domestically produced high-end quadruped robotic dog, developed in collaboration with Green Source Electric Vehicle, aims to conquer the core technologies of high-performance quadruped robots and establish large-scale production capabilities. The first generation prototype development has been basically completed and will enter the training and debugging phase, demonstrating the research institute’s strong capabilities in the core field of intelligent equipment, and is a concrete manifestation of laboratory products entering the market.
During the discussion session, various units engaged in in-depth discussions on topics such as the integration and application of artificial intelligence and robotics technology, industry status, regional advantages, and cooperation opportunities. The discussions broadly covered innovative applications of artificial intelligence in fields such as healthcare, deep integration of robotics technology with physical industries, data value and security mechanisms, the foundational support role of computing power and algorithms, as well as the opportunities and challenges facing current industry development. The atmosphere of the exchange was lively, with positive feedback.

Zhu Weifeng, in his speech, pointed out that the robotics industry alliance is an important tool for promoting high-quality development of the robotics industry in the central Zhejiang region, integrating industrial resources, and gathering development synergy. He emphasized the need to further improve the meeting format, focusing on industry pain points, cutting-edge trends, and cooperation opportunities, ensuring that meetings can effectively solve problems, promote exchanges, and enhance effectiveness. He called for focusing on the core goals of building the Central Zhejiang Artificial Intelligence Valley, concentrating on key elements such as project landing, market expansion, technological breakthroughs, and funding guarantees, accurately matching enterprise needs, and assisting in the efficient development of robotics industry projects. He also stressed the need to improve the project review and entry mechanism, accelerate the establishment of a review committee, clarify review standards and processes, and strictly control the quality of projects entering the park. Member units should fully utilize the resource advantages of the alliance platform, actively connect with upstream and downstream enterprises, seek complementary technological cooperation, tackle key core technologies in the industry, and jointly explore domestic and international markets to enhance the overall competitiveness of the robotics industry in Central Zhejiang, achieving mutual benefits and win-win outcomes.
Zhu Weifeng emphasized that relevant departments should further accelerate the sorting of policies supporting the development of the robotics and artificial intelligence industries at the provincial, municipal, and district levels, categorize, summarize, and refine interpretations, and promote the formulation of the “Central Zhejiang Artificial Intelligence Valley Policy Compilation” to provide clear and convenient policy guidance for enterprises. At the same time, efforts should be made to increase investment attraction, develop targeted investment plans, and attract more quality resources to settle in the Central Zhejiang Artificial Intelligence Valley, injecting new momentum into industrial development.
