Product Overview

ETHERCAT Accessories are used for the ETHERCAT data acquisition and control system. Dewesoft provides a range of EtherCAT accessories for interconnection, power supply, and synchronization between Dewesoft EtherCAT data acquisition systems. EtherCAT power injectors, synchronization connectors, and repeaters are essential tools for distributed EtherCAT data acquisition systems.

The accessories feature the same robust design and provide IP67 level environmental protection.

ECAT-Power Injector (Power injector for EtherCAT measurement chain)

EtherCAT data acquisition devices can easily distribute power, data, and synchronization using a single cable. The distance between data acquisition nodes can reach up to 100 meters.

Since each DAQ device in the EtherCAT measurement chain consumes power and loses some power due to the resistance of the cable, additional power injection is required if the measurement chain consists of many data acquisition devices.

The ECAT power injector is used to inject additional power into the EtherCAT measurement chain. It connects to the EtherCAT chain as simply as any other EtherCAT DAQ module. The ECAT power injector will inject new power and provide new power to all DAQ node connectors thereafter.

ECAT-Power Connector EtherCAT Power Connector

The ECAT power connector is used to connect any EtherCAT data acquisition device (such as KRYPTON or SIRIUS) to the power supply and to connect standard PC computers to RJ45 Ethernet ports.

Using Dewesoft processing computers and data loggers, such as SBOX, KRYPTON, CPU, R2DB, R4, R8, or MINITAURs does not require this accessory, as power is supplied directly by the aforementioned devices.

ECAT-Synchronization Connector EtherCAT Synchronization Node

The ECAT synchronization connector is used for synchronized acquisition between Dewesoft EtherCAT data acquisition devices (such as KRYPTON) and USB data acquisition devices (such as SIRIUS USB and DEWE-43A).

R1DB/R2DB, R4, R8, or MINITAURs DAQ systems do not require the ECAT synchronization connector when expanding EtherCAT devices, as synchronization is already built into the system.

ECAT-GPS Hub EtherCAT GPS Synchronization Node

The ECAT GPS connection device is similar to the ECAT synchronization connector, used for syncing data acquisition devices based on USB and EtherCAT using GPS as a synchronization time source.

It connects to a built-in 10 Hz GPS receiver and connectors for connecting GPS or IRIG-B-DC time code signals. Use this time code to synchronize devices.

The built-in GPS receiver can also be used to record positioning, just like any other navigation device.

ECAT-Repeater EtherCAT Repeater

The EtherCAT repeater is used to extend EtherCAT hybrid cables, allowing the connection of two 50 meters long cables. It enhances the connection stability of distributed EtherCAT systems, allowing distances greater than 50 meters.

The EtherCAT repeater is a robust inline device with an IP67 protection rating, compliant with MIL-STD-810D standards. The Lemo 1T series 8-pin male connector is located at the IN port, and the female connector is at the OUT port. The pin arrangement corresponds to standard KRYPTON DAQ devices.

An example of using the EtherCAT repeater is in railway applications, where measurement devices are distributed throughout the railway vehicle chain.

DS-HUBe7

The DS-HUBe7 is an EtherCAT HUB that can connect 7 EtherCAT devices. The hub uses Beckhoff CU1128 EtherCAT connection points.

The DS-HUBe7 has the same chassis form factor as the SIRIUS modular DAQ system series.

The front panel includes eight standard 8-pin LEMO connectors, which are similar to those of SIRIUS EtherCAT and KRYPTON series instruments. The first connector is for EtherCAT input (IN), and the other 7 connectors are for EtherCAT output (OUT).

The rear panel includes two standard 2-pin LEMO connectors for power – PWR-IN and PWR-OUT. PWR IN and PWR OUT are internally shortened. The input voltage for power is 9-36 V DC.

The DS-HUBe7 is a useful accessory for large systems with parallel EtherCAT chains.
