Panasonic’s Latest Bluetooth Module Now in Mass Production with Bluetooth 6.0 Support

Panasonic Industrial’s PAN B611-1 Bluetooth module is now in mass production, providing exceptional performance and ultra-low power consumption for all Matter applications. This module is based on the powerful Nordic nRF54L15 single-chip controller. The product now supports Bluetooth 6.0 and advanced Bluetooth channel detection features, enabling precise distance measurement and improved wireless communication. The PAN B611-1 was initially released in February 2025, under the name PAN B511-1.Panasonic's Latest Bluetooth Module Now in Mass Production with Bluetooth 6.0 SupportAll 32 pins on the nRF54L15 feature a mixed layout wiring, consisting of serrated edges and an LGA package, with some dedicated pins located at the edges for easy prototyping; the remaining GPIOs are located at the bottom to fully leverage the potential of the wireless SoC platform. The module is extremely compact, measuring only 10.35 mm × 9.8 mm × 1.9 mm. This design combines the advantages of both small size and one of the best pin size ratios currently available in Bluetooth modules on the market. Its edge pin design facilitates manual soldering and supports the use of cost-effective double-layer PCB designs and optical inspection methods, eliminating the need for expensive X-ray inspection equipment. The module is based on the nRF54L15 and features an open embedded application processor based on the ARM Cortex-M33 processor, with a clock speed of up to 128 MHz, suitable for high-performance embedded applications, and equipped with 256 kB of RAM. Additionally, the module has 1.5 MB of non-volatile memory, the same as the memory on the SoC.Furthermore, Panasonic has added more features beyond the SoC. Pascal Maier, head of Panasonic’s Industrial IoT devices, stated: “Our latest PAN B611-1 Bluetooth module is a versatile device that supports a variety of applications—from ultra-low power battery-operated solutions to very complex applications like Matter, as well as complex algorithm-intensive features like channel detection. Therefore, we offer versions with different specifications to support various applications. For example, these modules can be optionally equipped with an additional integrated slow clock crystal for energy-efficient battery operation; and an additional 4 MB of flash memory for more complex applications. We believe customers will love this module because it is versatile, powerful, and competitively priced.”With an output power of 8 dBm, this module is very suitable for the European market. Major target applications include lighting, home appliances, industrial sensors, medical devices, healthcare wearables, energy management devices, and solar power plants.Additionally, the PAN B611-1 is also very suitable for Matter applications, as it offers a dedicated version with additional flash memory and is fully compatible with the PAN MAX service, which aids in the production and market launch of Matter. Besides Matter, this powerful module also supports various wireless protocols in the 2.4 GHz band, including Bluetooth LE, Bluetooth Mesh, and IEEE 802.15.4, and supports Zigbee, Thread, and other third-party proprietary technologies, making it easy to develop products that comply with smart home standards like Matter and Zigbee, even supporting the simultaneous operation of multiple wireless protocols. The PAN B611-1 Bluetooth module offers integrated chip antenna (-1C) and bottom pad versions (-1B) to meet different project needs. The module has been certified by Europe (CE RED), the UK (UKCA), the USA (FCC), Canada (ISED), and Japan (MIC).For more information about the latest B611-1 Bluetooth module, please click here:https://industry.panasonic.eu/products/devices/wireless-connectivity/bluetooth-low-energy-modules/pan-b611-1-nRF54L15
