Introduction

As we all know, Nvidia is a global leader in artificial intelligence platforms, primarily creating products of various sizes and power to meet customer needs for deploying their AI algorithms and applications in various use cases or scenarios as quickly as possible, covering everything from learning to enterprise deployment.

Compared to other embedded platforms, Jetson’s advantages

Simply put, Jetson has different advantages for different developers, targeting various groups and scenarios, primarily in three aspects.
1. Aimed at users and developers, Jetson provides various free tools and SDKs to accelerate different AI applications for users, meeting diverse scene requirements. If you are a relatively experienced developer, you can directly use our CUDA to operate on our hardware, such as the computing units on the GPU; if you are a researcher or a data scientist focused on whether algorithms can run quickly, you can use our upper-level tools to input your models directly and achieve the best results on the GPU.

2. The provided tools also support many mainstream frameworks, such as TensorRT, OpenCV, etc., allowing you to directly deploy your model results trained on other platforms to our Jetson, significantly saving your time.

3.Providing a unified software architecture – CUDA, which can minimize hardware migration costs. Since all Jetson hardware platforms use a unified architecture, when migrating from one hardware platform to another, you only need to recompile without making any code-level changes. Thus, for developers, the migration cost is almost negligible.

For developers, Jetson has its advantages

As seen in Figure 1, Nvidia Jetson overall has smaller size, better computing power, and lower power consumption. Using Jetson for development can meet various product design and functional development needs. In addition, there are more advantages, mainly in the following three aspects.
1. Continuous software update support. We believe that the usability of a chip or hardware platform largely depends on software support. Developers will always have corresponding software support throughout the process to help them deploy their algorithms and applications faster.
2. Rich resource support, such as various open-source resources and projects available in Nvidia’s official developer community, and corresponding open-source codes on GitHub.
As mentioned earlier, all tools, software SDKs, and hardware platforms have very detailed documentation available for developers to download or browse freely, helping everyone get started quickly.
