Although many users of the little assistants have gradually faded out of the Summoner’s Rift, after the college entrance examination, quite a few people have logged back into LOL, returning to where the dream began. However, after the update to version 8.11 of League of Legends, players who enjoy playing ADC were surprised to find that the gameplay of this game seems to have completely changed…
Due to the excessive importance of the bot lane in the previous two versions, Riot made significant changes to the ADC position in the new version. The modifications to the Infinity Edge and its critical strike mechanism have completely stripped ADCs of their proud late-game carry ability. With this patch, the bot lane has experienced a strange chemical reaction; aside from Ezreal, Lucian, and Kai’Sa, the strong ADCs in the bot lane have turned into Yasuo, Malphite, and Gragas…
Yes, you read that right; the strong ADCs you see may just be melee champions…
In high-tier ranked matches across major servers, the bot lane has transformed from the traditional “support carrying the ADC” to four muscle-bound champions brawling it out. Many professional players have also started practicing those “unfamiliar” champions ahead of time. However, forcing players who are used to ranged champions to learn melee bruisers and assassins is undoubtedly a tall order. As a result, many professional players have voiced their complaints about this “magical version” on their social media platforms.

Of course, while some people criticize the changes, there are also those who applaud Riot. Our familiar master Doublelift is one of them; he expressed on Twitter that after playing long-range champions for so many years, it is quite interesting to occasionally try out champions from other positions.
In the Chinese LPL, more players are actually concerned not about the gaming experience, but about RNG and Uzi. After the changes in version 8.11, ADCs have almost completely departed from the concept of “late game”. The emphasis is now on aggression and control, playing more of a supportive role in the team rather than the pure carry role of ADCs. Other teams aside, this is certainly not good news for Uzi.
Of course, we don’t have to despair just yet. Although Riot currently has no plans for a new round of changes, there are still several months until the World Championship. If nothing unexpected happens, this somewhat distorted environment will not last too long. Based on past experiences, the World Championship should return to a version where the bot lane dominates the late game.
So, friends, what do you have to say about the ADC changes and the current state of ADCs? What kind of bizarre bot lane compositions have you encountered in the game? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments!
