The Fragrance of Zongzi Lingers“Timeless Flavor” and “Stepping into a New Journey”

“The Dragon Boat Festival arrives in mid-summer, as the days grow longer and clearer.” Every year during the Dragon Boat Festival, families prepare zongzi (rice dumplings). Making and eating zongzi is a common tradition, and the atmosphere of the festival is largely defined by these dumplings. As the Dragon Boat Festival approaches, the fragrance of zongzi lingers, embodying the “timeless flavor” and “stepping into a new journey.” Party members and officials should savor the “faith zongzi,” “original intention zongzi,” and “practical action zongzi,” as they embark on a new path.

In the “faith zongzi,” one tastes the flavor of “dreaming of distant shores, unwavering heart,” stepping into a new journey with firm belief. With the “fire of dreams” burning in their hearts, actions can showcase the “spirit of striving.” Party members and officials must transform their ideals and beliefs into practical actions for the “hard work” of their careers, stepping briskly towards the “poetry and distant lands” with a sense of urgency, facing difficulties head-on, withstanding pressure, and boldly confronting challenges. They should continuously exert effort in career development, guided by the “lamp of faith” towards the direction of progress. On the path of examination, party members and officials must “keep a close watch” on the “hard bones” and avoid feelings of “fear, evasion, or retreat,” lest they miss opportunities by hesitating. If the “hard bones” are not “chewed through,” obstacles on the path of examination will persist, and the dreams they wish to achieve will remain “distant.” Therefore, party members and officials must firmly uphold their ideals and beliefs, accurately identify the “navigation markers” for the examination, dare to take on “hot potatoes,” and resolutely tackle “hard bones,” allowing their hearts to guide them forward.

In the “original intention zongzi,” one tastes the flavor of “bending down to serve the people and alleviate their worries,” stepping into a new journey with sincere feelings.Only by deeply engaging with reality can one clearly understand where the “needs” of the people lie and where the “keys” to solving problems are. Only by grasping the critical answers to the “needs” and “keys” can one enhance the effectiveness of their work. Party members and officials should act as diligent “servants,” understanding the “urgent and difficult” matters of the people through research and investigation, sitting on the same bench with the masses to bridge the “emotional distance.” They should listen carefully to the people’s problems, take detailed notes, create a comprehensive “portrait” of the issues, collect minute details, understand the context of the problems, and accurately target the “pain points” and the causes of the “bottlenecks,” effectively resolving the worries and concerns of the people. Accompanying the people is the longest-lasting expression of love; they should practice their promises with “dedication” and “commitment,” keeping the people’s needs at the forefront of their minds, continuously hammering away at the path of serving the people, ensuring that the people’s sense of gain and security is more sustainable and guaranteed.

In the “practical action zongzi,” one tastes the flavor of “being courageous and unceasing in progress,” stepping into a new journey with genuine methods.Even a small mound of earth, with a drop of water, may seem insignificant, but accumulated earth can form mountains, and accumulated water can form deep pools. As long as one puts in the effort, they can break through new dimensions and achieve remarkable results. Party members and officials should promote the spirit of hard work, “standing firm” in practice, and “nailing down” their efforts in advancing their careers. They should embody the spirit of “perseverance can carve through stone,” treating every “big and small matter” with meticulousness, facing all difficulties with a passionate willingness to work, shouldering the responsibilities of “being capable of doing things,” and ensuring that every task is executed with precision, fully leveraging their strengths and cultivating a strong sense of responsibility. Party members and officials should diligently practice their skills, solidifying their “knowledge base” through theoretical learning and honing their “ability to bear heavy burdens” through practical training, engaging in reform and development, rural revitalization, and grassroots governance, and delivering impressive work results.

Deep Understanding“Dragon Boat Racing” and the Dream of “Revitalizing Mountains and Seas”

“Once again, the Dragon Boat Festival arrives, with boats racing against each other.” Dragon boat racing is not only a folk cultural activity rich in tradition but also a sport full of competitive spirit. As we diligently pursue our goals, it is the right time to set sail. Young party members should deeply appreciate the national sentiment and competitive spirit embedded in “dragon boat racing,” keenly seizing the historic opportunity of rural revitalization, and with a spirit of “loyalty,” “serving the people,” and “striving,” embark on the magnificent journey of rural revitalization.

Deep understanding of “the drum sounds three times, the red flag rises, two dragons leap from the water,” with a “loyalty that is unwavering and a commitment to the end” in the pursuit of the dream of “revitalizing mountains and seas.”The drummer is the “soul” of dragon boat racing; during the competition, all actions must follow the drummer’s beat to ensure that the entire team rows in unison and maintains a consistent rhythm, thus achieving a collective mindset and effort. Looking back at the century-long journey of the Party, it is precisely because countless party members have consistently upheld the Party’s comprehensive leadership and maintained the correct political direction that the Communist Party of China has achieved victory after victory. As we embark on the new journey of rural revitalization, young party members should deeply understand the guiding power of “seeing the main peak among the towering mountains,” recognizing that whether it is “optimizing the layout and planning of towns and villages,” “coordinating the development space for rural areas,” “enhancing the effectiveness of grassroots governance,” or “promoting industrial income growth,” it is essential to uphold the Party’s comprehensive leadership and leverage the role of Party building to steer the direction. Therefore, young party members should seize the opportunity presented by this thematic education, firmly anchor the primary task of “learning the ideology,” and persistently arm their minds with Xi Jinping’s Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, continuously enhancing their political, ideological, theoretical, and emotional recognition of the Party’s innovative theories through comprehensive and systematic theoretical learning, and unwaveringly follow the Party’s guidance.

Deep understanding of “carrying the flag and singing the folk songs of loyalty, governance must not be neglected,” with a “steadfast original intention and dedication to serving the people” in the pursuit of the dream of “revitalizing mountains and seas.”According to the “Records of the Grand Historian,” in the “Biography of Qu Yuan,” it is recorded that in 278 BC, after the fall of Yingdu and the destruction of the Chu state, Qu Yuan, in deep sorrow, wrote his final work “Huaisha” on the fifth day of the fifth month and then threw himself into the river. The people of Chu were heartbroken upon hearing this news, and fishermen hurriedly rowed their boats to try to recover Qu Yuan’s body, using their oars to drive away the fish in the river to prevent them from consuming his body. Thus, every year on the fifth day of the fifth month, dragon boat races are held in his memory. It is precisely because Qu Yuan always placed the people in his heart that the people would elevate him high. General Secretary Xi Jinping repeatedly emphasizes: “The country is the people, and the people are the country; to establish and defend the country is to safeguard the hearts of the people.” Standing on the broad stage of rural revitalization, young party members should always maintain the original intention of “the vastness of heaven and earth, prioritizing the people,” deeply cultivate the sentiment of “sighing deeply for the hardships of the people,” and take the starting point of “the matters that benefit the people must be pursued; the matters that harm the people must be eliminated” to establish themselves and navigate the world, keeping the safety and well-being of the people at heart, treating the people’s “sufferings and hardships” as their own “inner ailments,” and using the “earthy flavor” of their own lives to bring the “taste of happiness” to the masses, fulfilling the solemn vow that “the people’s aspiration for a better life is our goal of struggle.”

Deep understanding of “the fairy oars create thousands of waves, the blue waves roll up ten thousand rainbows,” with a “spirit of daring to explore and striving for success” in the pursuit of the dream of “revitalizing mountains and seas.”“The dragons compete, shaking the sky, cutting through the purple thunder and wind.” Amidst the powerful sounds of gongs and drums and the enthusiastic shouts, the rowers exert their utmost effort, racing forward, showcasing the “dragon boat spirit” of “the swiftest boats lead the way; the brave win the race”. “Though the road is long, it will be reached if one walks; though the task is difficult, it will be accomplished if one acts.” The beautiful picture of rural revitalization is gradually unfolding, but the challenging “bones” in its fiery practice will not be absent. Young party members should promote the “dragon boat spirit,” advancing into the “deep waters” of grassroots work with the determination of “the more dangerous, the more forward.” In facing a series of tasks that support the comprehensive revitalization of rural areas, such as “promoting the modernization of rural governance systems and capabilities” and “high-quality Party building leading to high-quality development,” they should take on responsibilities with the spirit of “not avoiding difficulties and not shirking responsibilities,” inheriting the spirit of “crossing the river by feeling the stones,” uniting and leading the masses to overcome obstacles, conquering one “Loushan Pass” and “Lazikou” after another, and taking practical actions to forge new paths, create new methods, implement new measures, and achieve new accomplishments, ensuring that the top-level design of the rural revitalization strategy is effectively implemented at the grassroots level, helping to turn the beautiful blueprint of rural revitalization into a beautiful reality.

Drawing from the “Dragon Boat Spirit” to Propel the “Paddle of the Times”

“In March, spring is still here, and now the Dragon Boat Festival is approaching.” Every Dragon Boat Festival, dragon boat racing activities abound across the coasts, with rowers united in purpose, gathering an unstoppable force. As they advance on the path of examination, party members and officials should draw from the “dragon boat spirit,” pursue their dreams, forge ahead, take on the “new mission,” cultivate their “responsibility fields,” and row with the “paddle of the times.”

With unwavering faith,“striving forward,” maintaining the momentum of “persistence.” Only with a “heart of belief” can one have a clear direction and steady steps, and not fear the “winds and waves” or “struggle against the tide.” Party members and officials should be guided by the “fire of faith,” taking on the baton and the burden on the journey of progress, striving tirelessly for the great cause, calibrating their “forward coordinates,” utilizing their “action guidelines,” and strengthening their “spiritual support.” Party members and officials should transform their solemn vows into the will of “not fearing difficulties” and the actions of “not fearing hardship,” showcasing their strengths in the vast expanse of grassroots work, proactively stepping forward in urgent and challenging tasks, displaying their “long scroll of struggle,” and honing their “shoulders of responsibility,” integrating their “small selves” into the “river of the times,” and pouring their all into every moment of work, running with a spirit of “selflessness” and “passion,” gathering the strength to dare to explore and charge forward, continuously achieving new progress in career development.

With tireless enthusiasm,“striving forward,” maintaining the spirit of “seeking upwards and exploring.” Party members and officials should always maintain a sense of “skill anxiety,” continuously absorbing “sunshine and rain” in the learning process, keeping the enthusiasm to learn, study diligently, and be eager to learn. For areas where they are “not proficient” on the job, and for places where they have “confusion” in solving practical problems, they should combine book knowledge, colleagues’ methods, and the wisdom of the masses to understand, absorb, and master, enriching their “skill set” and ensuring they keep pace with the times, preventing situations where they “fall behind.” Party members and officials should closely integrate learning with practice, permeating the awareness of “unity of knowledge and action” into their work, practicing “learning while doing,” proactively learning what they do not know, and skillfully applying what they have learned, becoming “practical bamboo.” Party members and officials should view learning as a conscious pursuit, not only extracting the “true flavor” from their studies but also solidly grasping the “essence,” clarifying the mission and requirements on the “path of examination,” and being adept at discerning the trends of the times, moving forward with “large strides.”

With a down-to-earth approach,“striving forward,” maintaining the resilience of “serving the people.” To serve the people, one must first understand what the people “need.” Only by accurately identifying the “points of demand” can services align with the thoughts and feelings of the people. Party members and officials should solve problems and promote development at the grassroots level, taking the expectations of the people as their own goals, honing the skills of “opening roads in the mountains and building bridges in the water,” growing in capability through “weathering storms,” diligently completing every work task, responding to the needs of the people, doing good for the people, striving for excellence, and ensuring that “when the people call, I respond.” They should continuously enhance the people’s sense of happiness, gain, and security. Party members and officials should shoulder the important mission entrusted by the times with “strong shoulders,” drawing closer to the people through heartfelt conversations, stepping forward when the people need them, helping the masses with ideas, organizing the people’s “demand list” into a “problem list,” and effectively resolving the worries and concerns of the people, becoming the “ox of the people.”
