Entering the Frontier of Technology
Touching the Future of Education

Chen Jinglun School, Beijing

With the strong support of the district education committee and the district youth activity center, on September 20, the teachers and students of Chen Jinglun School entered the National Speed Skating Hall ‘Ice Ribbon’ to embark on a deep exploration journey of ‘Humanoid Robots + Education’! Dance shows, soccer showdowns, and exploring the ‘Panda Eye’… The students experienced the infinite possibilities of future education through the collision of cutting-edge technology at the Winter Olympic venue.
Humanoid Robot ‘All-Round Show’
1
Dance Show

The humanoid robots combined multi-directional joints with AI aesthetics, and the programming serves as their ‘muscle memory’, resulting in synchronized movements that earned applause from the audience.
2
Soccer Showdown

The world’s top robot soccer teams staged a 3V3 showdown, with robots autonomously dribbling, shooting, and defending, even performing a dramatic ‘5-second recovery’ to re-enter the game! Students acted as the ‘coaching team’ on the sidelines, cheering for the robots and strategizing.

Penalty Shootout

In this segment, students engaged in a fun penalty shootout against the robot Booster! The robot shot accurately while the children made valiant saves, with cheers echoing throughout the venue. When the robot scored, the children instantly ‘switched sides’ and cheered for the robot.

Exploring the ‘Panda Eye’ Laboratory

Entering the ‘Panda Eye’ training base (an intelligent laboratory built with ETFE membrane materials), observing the training of robots in a 5V5 soccer match. The venue’s temperature, humidity, and cleanliness are intelligently controlled, providing a ‘laboratory-level’ competitive environment for the robots. Here, children also participated in specialized robot courses, learning about the development of humanoid robots and broadening their technological horizons.

Student Reflections

On the weekend, I participated in a technology event organized by the school, where I visited a soccer robot competition. The teacher explained the knowledge of robots to us, and I gained a lot. When I entered the robot venue, I was immediately captivated by the intense competition. I saw soccer robots skillfully maneuvering on the green field, accurately identifying the ball, dribbling quickly, and working together to pass and shoot. Every move was spectacular! It was impressive! Every time a robot scored, cheers erupted, and everyone present couldn’t help but applaud these ‘little athletes’, amazed by the ‘intelligence’ bestowed upon them by programming.
These are the tremendous impacts that technological innovation has brought us. I am in awe of the wonders of technology, which further ignites my interest in exploring science. I secretly resolved to study hard and explore continuously, hoping that in the future, I can design impressive robots too!

On the morning of September 20, under the school’s organization, we visited the humanoid robot training base. The teacher explained the development history of robots to us, and we not only watched humanoid robots perform actions like handshakes and dancing but also enjoyed an exciting 3V3 soccer performance. Through our daily studies, I learned that humanoid robots have already made their mark in various fields. They can transport materials in industrial manufacturing, sort packages in logistics, and assist in teaching in educational settings.
Looking to the future, robots may also play roles as household managers, doctors, or caregivers, taking on dangerous or repetitive tasks. Humans will collaborate with robots, each showcasing their strengths to create a better tomorrow together.

During this visit to the robot soccer competition, I was deeply impressed by the speed of technological development. Looking back to the year 2000, China’s first bipedal robot ‘Pioneer’ could only walk slowly at a speed of one step per second, and its movements were somewhat stiff, yet it was a significant breakthrough at that time. Now, robots can autonomously perform a series of smooth actions like dribbling, passing, and shooting on the field, with the intensity of competition and precision of coordination almost rivaling that of real athletes. This is the result of the wisdom and hard work of generations of researchers.
Every seemingly simple action comes from thousands of algorithm optimizations; every spectacular shot relies on precise data calculations and system controls. From the initial stumbling steps to the current sprinting on the green field, China’s robot technology has achieved an exciting leap forward.

Today, my classmates and I visited the humanoid robot training base. We watched exciting performances of robots kicking balls and dancing, and everyone applauded. Some of these robots were operated remotely, while others relied on algorithms for autonomous control. We also learned that quadrupedal robot technology is already quite mature, while bipedal robots are still under continuous development. We must study hard to embrace this era of robots and develop better robots in the future to contribute to our country.

Today, watching the humanoid robot demonstration, I was deeply shocked by the development of modern technology and artificial intelligence. I never thought robots could play soccer—originally, it was difficult to make robots walk steadily, yet they can not only dribble flexibly and shoot but also perform simple dances, and they don’t fall when kicking long balls during competitions. Even more surprisingly, robots can run and even perform difficult moves. If I were to design them, I might not even be able to take a single step.
This event broadened my horizons and strengthened my confidence. I look forward to the continuous improvement of China’s robot and artificial intelligence technology, and I hope to contribute to the technological advancement of my country in the future.

As a model school for science and technology education in Beijing, Chen Jinglun School always adheres to the educational philosophy of ‘laying the foundation for students’ lifelong development’, constructing a science and technology education system based on specialized courses, high-end competitions, and the spirit of scientists. Through the ‘Dream Team’ intelligent robot club, the school has established a cultivation mechanism that connects primary and secondary education, forming a development pattern of multi-club collaboration and interdisciplinary integration, continuously stimulating students’ scientific enthusiasm and innovative spirit. This ‘Ice Ribbon’ technology practice activity is not only a vivid science and technology lesson but also a demonstration of the school’s promotion of high-quality science and technology education. The school will continue to promote the deep integration of science and technology education with real-world scenarios, providing solid and feasible ‘Chen Fen experience’ for cultivating innovative talents in the new era.
