1. The STC89C52 microcontroller is used as the control core, with real-time updates displayed on the LCD1602 screen.
2. Positioning Function: The GSM/GPS module obtains real-time latitude and longitude data of the elderly person’s location through dual positioning via base station and GPS;
3. Fall Alarm: The ADXL345 three-axis accelerometer detects the status of the cane in real-time. When a fall is detected, the system controls the GSM module to send an SMS with the latitude and longitude data and time information of the fall location to the designated emergency contact number. The display shows a help message, the LED light flashes, and a voice message plays: “Accidental fall, requesting help”;
4. Obstacle Avoidance Reminder: The HC-SR04 ultrasonic module collects the distance to obstacles in real-time. When the detected distance is below a set minimum distance, the system automatically controls the voice module to issue a warning: “There is an obstacle ahead, please detour”;
5. Night Reminder: When the photoresistor detects insufficient ambient light, it automatically turns on a high-brightness LED light to alert passersby;
6. One-Button Help: In case of an emergency, the elderly person can press the emergency help button. The system will enter emergency mode, sending the current latitude and longitude data and time information via SMS to the designated emergency contact number. The display shows a help message, the LED light flashes, and a voice message plays: “Requesting help”;
7. Hourly Chime: The system will control the voice module to announce the time at the top of each hour;
8. Manual Time Announcement: When the elderly person wants to know the current date/time, they can press the announcement button, and the system will announce the current Beijing time/date;
9. Setting Function: The date and time can be calibrated, and the alarm distance limit can be set using buttons. During the setting process, voice prompts assist the elderly in operation. The set alarm distance limit is saved in the AT24C02 memory chip to retain settings during power loss;
10. Remote Location Finding: Family members can send an SMS to notify the elderly person to return home and receive the location information of the elderly person via SMS;
