1. Fury Warriors Make a Comeback, 20,528 Damage Per Second Breaks Record.
World of Warcraft’s “Wrath of the Lich King” Classic has exploded again! Following the mages, the second class to break the 20,000 damage per second mark has finally emerged, which is the Fury Warrior wielding the legendary axe “Shadowmourne”. This week, during the Lady Deathwhisper fight in normal ICC, the player “God Destroyer Day Six” from Daggerspine achieved an astonishing 20,528 damage per second, directly breaking the WCL record. Previously, only mages could reach over 20,000, but now the Fury Warriors have carved out a niche. Their team pace was a bit slow; otherwise, the damage could have been even higher, but 20,528 is already impressively high, marking the only official record over 20,000 aside from mages!

Veteran players may remember that this “God Destroyer Day Six” has other impressive maneuvers; he obtained the legendary axe early by switching factions weekly. Now, on the fifth cooldown, he has completed ICC ten times. Once he got his hands on this legendary axe, the Fury Warrior took off instantly, achieving over 20,000 damage per second, breaking the mage’s monopoly. Is there hope for other classes as well?

2. Blizzard’s Major Changes to MOP Classic, Class Balance Overhaul, and Early ‘Sneak Peek’ of Draenor Content?
Players, the Mists of Pandaria Classic hasn’t even launched yet, and Blizzard has dropped a bombshell! The latest lengthy blue post announces that the class balance in MOP Classic will undergo earth-shattering changes, and this is not just a simple “authentic” experience.

Blizzard’s approach this time is very clear; they are directly adopting the design of the final version 5.4.8, which was not feasible in the early stages. Therefore, they made three core adjustments:
First is “Rollback”, which revokes some class changes from the later stages of original MOP, bringing class states closer to the early stages of the expansion;
Second is “Forward-looking”, which introduces some optimization fixes from the pre-expansion version of Warlords of Draenor ahead of time;
Third is “Customization”, which adds balance adjustments for specific specializations, such as weakening the Shaman’s Healing Rain (new changes), introducing the Ancestor’s Guidance from the pre-expansion version of Draenor, while reverting the Stormstrike buff to the 5.4 version.
In simple terms, Blizzard aims to tailor the strength of each class/spec at every stage of the expansion. Some strong specializations in the later stages will receive temporary boosts in the early stages to ensure competitiveness during the initial raids; as gear improves, these boosts will gradually be removed, allowing strength to naturally return to the expected curve.

From this announcement, we can see that Blizzard’s design philosophy for the Classic servers is continuously evolving. From the original 60-level “authentic” experience, to the partial early enhancements in WLK, and now to the phased fine-tuning of MOP, the goal is clear: to recreate the classic experience while addressing pain points, making the class experience more balanced and reasonable at every stage. Will these changes be a surprise or a shock? We’ll find out in July! #WorldofWarcraft#
