Exploring Ubuntu MATE on Raspberry Pi 3 with External Screen

A few days ago, YouTube blogger Bird Techstep released a new video demonstrating how to explore the Ubuntu MATE Linux operating system on the newly launched Raspberry Pi 3 (Model B) microcontroller. A few weeks ago, Martin Wimpress from the Ubuntu MATE team launched a new version of the Ubuntu Pi Flavour Maker tool, allowing anyone to port this Ubuntu-based system to the Raspberry Pi 3.

The demonstration focused on connecting a XXC-40-038 A2 touch screen to the Raspberry Pi 3, enabling interaction with the Ubuntu MATE interface using a stylus.

Of course, the Ubuntu Pi Flavour Maker tool can also be used for other official/third-party Ubuntu derivatives, such as Xubuntu, Lubuntu, and Ubuntu Server (minimal and standard versions).

Although the video shows some difficulties with touch interaction on the Raspberry Pi 3, we are pleased to see experienced developers linking unique hardware with innovative technology.
