To continuously optimize the layout of high-quality public sports resources and better meet the fitness needs of citizens nearby, this year, our city has selected 9 locations across the city to build community embedded sports venues. Currently, the construction of the venues is progressing steadily.

The Nanchang community embedded sports venue project is a key project voted by the people for the 2025 annual livelihood matters. In Donghu District, Xihu District, Qingshanhu District, Qingyunpu District, High-tech Zone, Xinjian District, Economic Development Zone, Wanli Management Bureau, and Nanchang County, one community embedded sports venue will be built in each area. The design of each venue follows the principle of “one venue, one plan,” integrating local traditional culture and surrounding architectural styles into the planning and design.

Gong Zheng, Project Manager of the Nanchang Community Embedded Sports Venue Project from the Municipal Transportation Investment Group: “Our main purpose in site selection is to choose these ‘corner’ plots within mature community areas to serve more surrounding residents. Depending on the size of each venue, we have set up five-a-side football fields, basketball courts, pickleball courts, and table tennis courts outdoors. Our project aims to bring sports venues into our communities, (to) promote sports among our citizens.“

The community embedded sports venue in Qingshanhu District is located on the north side of Nanjing East Road, west of Hexing Jiayuan Community, covering an area of about 12 acres. The indoor layout is “one basketball court and six badminton courts,” while the outdoor layout includes “one football field, three basketball courts, two pickleball courts, and five table tennis tables.” Currently, the construction team for the Qingshanhu District venue is orderly carrying out various operations, with all roads already hardened, and the construction of rain and sewage pipelines, as well as strong and weak electricity, has also been completed. Once completed, it will provide a rich variety of fitness options for nearby residents.

Zhang Yong, Construction Supervisor of the Nanchang Community Embedded Sports Venue (Qingshanhu District): “We started construction around July 10. Currently, there are 9 workers for the steel structure installation, 2 cranes, and high-altitude equipment. By the end of September, we expect to have basically completed the installation of the main venue’s steel structure.“

The community embedded sports venue in Wanli is located at the intersection of Hongfeng Road and Yinxing Road on the west side of the Western Ring Road, covering an area of about 12 acres. The indoor layout is also “one basketball court and six badminton courts,” while the outdoor area is designed as a pocket sports park, featuring “one football field, four basketball courts, two table tennis tables, chess tables, fitness equipment, and children’s facilities.” The venue design fully considers the natural environment of Wanli and the living characteristics of residents, aiming to create a vibrant fitness and leisure space close to nature for residents.

Xiao Wei, Project Manager of the Nanchang Community Embedded Sports Venue Project from Nanchang Second Construction: “Our pocket sports park is designed for all age groups, with exercise facilities for the elderly, sandpits for children, and table tennis for teenagers. Residents of all ages nearby can come here for sports activities.”

Currently, the foundation piles, bearing platform, and main steel structure of the Wanli venue have been completed, and the construction of outdoor pipelines, landscaping, and lighting is also progressing in an orderly manner.

Xiao Wei, Project Manager of the Nanchang Community Embedded Sports Venue Project from Nanchang Second Construction: “We have completed about 60-70% of the overall progress. The remaining work is the surface construction. Next, we will increase personnel, machinery, and other facility investments, and carefully organize and scientifically arrange to ensure full completion by November 30.”

The Nanchang community embedded sports venue project is of great significance for improving the quality of life of urban residents and promoting the development of national fitness. Once completed, these community embedded sports venues will become excellent places for citizens to engage in fitness and leisure, adding more vitality and charm to the city of Nanchang.

Citizen Hu Yinhua: “This community has many residents, but there are no suitable sports venues nearby. In the future, having a good place for exercise will be very convenient, and the neighbors are all quite happy about it.”

Citizen Deng Xingyu: “We have always hoped that the community could have a convenient place for everyone to exercise. After the completion of this community embedded sports venue, we can exercise without going far, which is great. I hope there will be professional instructors to guide us so that everyone can participate.”
