Introduction
The NRU-51V series is a rugged Jetson Orin™ NX/Xavier™ NX computer that supports GMSL2 cameras, serving as a sensor hub or perception unit for ADAS, remote operations, autonomous mobile robots, and autonomous vehicles.
By supporting GMSL2 automotive cameras (including third-party options like TierIV and Intel® RealSense™ cameras), the NRU-51V+ gains enhanced visual capabilities, including high dynamic range (120dB HDR), automatic white balance (AWB), and LED flicker mitigation (LFM). Additionally, the IP67 waterproof rating of the GMSL2 automotive cameras allows for more flexible deployment in outdoor applications. Regardless of lighting conditions, from bright sunny days to pitch-black nights, the NRU-51V+ can capture high-quality images with very low latency. Furthermore, it features a unique synchronization mechanism that allows it to capture images simultaneously from four GMSL2 cameras with microsecond-level inter-channel deviation. It can also receive GPS PPS signals to align image data with LiDAR (LIDAR) or synchronize cameras on other systems.
Thanks to the exceptional energy efficiency of the NVIDIA® Jetson Orin NX™ SOM, the NRU-51V+ delivers 100 TOPS of inference performance within its 25W power envelope. Users can transmit raw camera images to another GPU server for perception processing via its built-in 10GBASE-T Ethernet, while also leveraging its powerful TOPS for real-time object or ROI detection. For remote operation applications, users can utilize its hardware H.264/265 video codec to encode video streams from four GMSL2 cameras in real-time and transmit live video to remote drivers with minimal latency via 5G communication.
The combination of the GMSL2 interface with the Jetson Orin™ NX makes the NRU-51V+ more than just a simple edge AI computer. With the broader field of view provided by onboard cameras, along with I/O interfaces supporting 5G broadband such as 10GbE, CAN 2.0, and M.2, the NRU-51V+ can play a central role in mobile platforms, such as serving as the sensor hub for ADAS, the perception unit for AGV/AMR, or the remote operation controller for off-road vehicles.
