MCUController Chip：

MCU: Siemens collaborated with Japan’s second-largest MCU manufacturer Fujitsu to design and develop the control board and chip for the 1200 series PLC. Later, after Fujitsu was acquired by Spansion (American Spansion Semiconductor), Siemens decided to migrate from Fujitsu to Japan’s largest MCU manufacturer Renesas Electronics chips.

On April 30, 2013, Spansion, the world’s largest company specializing in flash memory development, production, and marketing, acquired Fujitsu’s microcontroller (MCU) and analog business units. (Fujitsu’s MCU is powerful, reputedly strong in withstand voltage testing, making it suitable for industrial control and white goods.) Spansion was established as a semiconductor company by Fujitsu and AMD in 2003.

On March 17, 2015 – Cypress Semiconductor and Spansion announced on March 12 that their $5 billion all-stock tax-free merger transaction was completed.

On June 3, 2019, Infineon Technologies AG acquired American chip manufacturer Cypress. According to the announcement, Cypress has a differentiated product portfolio, including microcontrollers, software, and connectivity components, which highly complements Infineon’s leading power semiconductors, sensors, and security solutions.
