Recently, the R&D center of Shaanxi Nonferrous Yulin New Materials Group Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Yulin New Materials Group”) announced that the high-quality aluminum-silicon-magnesium alloy powder produced using single-stream atomization technology has reached an industry-leading level, successfully validating the feasibility of the new preparation process technology.

Data shows that the performance of the batch of powder produced by this breakthrough preparation technology is excellent: sphericity exceeds 90%, flowability reaches 52.32 seconds/50 grams, and the oxygen increase is only two hundred and ninety parts per million.

The new preparation process technology relies on the R&D center team’s independently designed and customized pilot atomization powder production line for research and development. By applying single-stream atomization technology and optimizing tooling and controlling parameters, the equipment functionality has been upgraded and stabilized, with the product yield consistently above 80%, far exceeding traditional processes and industry averages. This technology can be widely applied to the manufacturing of non-ferrous metals and their alloys such as aluminum and copper, actively empowering the additive manufacturing of complex components, and is expected to significantly enhance 3D printing efficiency and quality.

Liu Xiaocheng, head of the pilot workshop at Yulin New Materials Group’s R&D center, stated: “Our independently developed new preparation process technology has significant advantages such as low energy consumption and low loss, achieving a comprehensive cost reduction of over 20%, laying a solid foundation for subsequent industrial-scale production.”

In the next step, the R&D center of Yulin New Materials Group will promote the development of high value-added products through technological upgrades, continuously deepen the field of material processing, optimize technical parameters, enhance process stability and production efficiency, and coordinate product certification and integrated production and sales work, helping the company achieve its “five-level extension” and accelerate the creation of the domestic coal-electricity-aluminum integrated industry leader.
