For modifications to covered aquariums, it is recommended to use an aluminum box body with a transparent polycarbonate cover to protect the circuit board from moisture damage. The choice of polycarbonate over acrylic is due to its higher temperature resistance. If the LED board is suspended in the air by a 3D printed arm, moisture requirements may be reduced. Once powered on, the circuit board will quickly heat up, evaporating moisture and thus reducing corrosion risk, but further testing is needed for validation.
The components of the light fixture require M4x20mm bolts (to connect the glass fork), M4x35mm bolts (to connect the arm and LED holder), and M4x40mm bolts (to connect the arm and glass fork), along with washers and nuts.
If all LED beads are soldered, effective heat dissipation measures must be taken, as the power will reach 16W on a 10x5cm circuit board, or 8W on a 5x5cm circuit board. To ensure the lifespan of the LEDs, their operating temperature should be kept below 60 degrees Celsius. A heatsink size calculator can be used to estimate the size of the heatsink. It is recommended to use thermal paste/thermal adhesive to bond the heatsink to the circuit board, which can be purchased at mobile/laptop repair shops or online platforms. By using a 20×20 or 25×25 heatsink fan, the size of the heatsink can be effectively reduced. A 12V fan can be connected directly or through a resistor to the LED power input to reduce speed and noise.
The product provides LED circuit board manufacturing documentation, allowing users to upload the ZIP file to PCB manufacturing platforms like Seeed Studio for economical and high-quality circuit boards.

LEDs and resistors can be purchased from platforms like DigiKey or Farnell. A broader supplier search can also be conducted through findchips.com. The same series of LEDs offers different color temperature and CRI options, with detailed parameters provided in the LED datasheet. The 4000K 90CRI is recommended for its balanced ratio of red, green, and blue light. Color temperatures above 4000K may lead to excessive blue light.
2. Aquarium Desk Lamp Adapter

To meet the fish’s need for algae food, there is no need to purchase specialized aquarium lights; a homemade adapter can fix an idle desk lamp to the aquarium. The adapter printing process does not require support material. The new version of the adapter further strengthens the fixing effect to prevent the desk lamp from tilting forward. Since aquarium sizes vary, if the adapter does not match, please provide a photo and dimensions of the aquarium for custom design.
Additionally, a reverse-mounted adapter version (lamp head facing up) is available, but it has not been tested, so use it with caution. Please pay attention to electrical safety; mixing water and electricity poses potential risks, and it is recommended to use a GFCI outlet (Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter) to ensure safety. Users assume their own risks.
3. Piranha 12 LED Light Installation System (HW-5V-12LED)

Next, embed two nuts into the side pockets of the horizontal bracket in the same way, then insert the M3x14 screw into the center hole. Connect the horizontal bracket to the top bracket. Then, insert two nuts into the side pockets of the shade. Use 2 or 4 M3x8 screws to install the LED PCB inside the shade. Finally, insert two M3x10 screws into the side holes of the horizontal bracket and connect the shade to the horizontal bracket. Adjust as needed and tighten all screws.
