2025 Shanghai Smart Watch (Including Children’s Watches) Product Quality Supervision and Spot Check Results
Recently, the Shanghai Municipal Market Supervision Administration conducted a quality supervision and spot check on smart watches (including children’s watches) produced and sold in the city. A total of 30 batches of products were sampled, and 1 batch was found to be non-compliant. Among the physical sales, 14 batches were inspected with no non-compliance found; among the e-commerce sales, 16 batches were inspected with 1 batch found to be non-compliant.
The sampled products were sourced from six provinces and cities, including Shanghai, Beijing, Guangdong, Jiangsu, Anhui, and Fujian. Among the samples, 5 batches were claimed to be produced by companies in Shanghai, with no non-compliance found; 25 batches were claimed to be produced by companies from other provinces and cities, with 1 batch found to be non-compliant.
This supervision and spot check was organized and implemented based on the SHSSXZ0167-2025 “Implementation Rules for Quality Supervision and Spot Check of Smart Watches (Including Children’s Watches) in Shanghai”.
The non-compliant products identified in this spot check have been handed over to the local market supervision departments of the sampled producers and sellers for legal processing. The specific inspection results are as follows:

1. Analysis of Non-Compliance Situations
The non-compliance item identified in this spot check is: sample capacity testing.
The standard requires that the actual capacity of the sample should be greater than or equal to its rated capacity. The one batch of samples found in this spot check had a capacity less than the rated capacity. This non-compliance can mislead consumers in their purchasing and usage.
2. Consumer Tips
(1) Prefer products from well-known companies: When purchasing products, whether online or offline, try to buy from reputable malls, merchants, or platforms, and choose products produced by well-known domestic and foreign companies, as these products usually have stable quality and have passed manufacturer testing, ensuring better performance;
(2) Check product labeling and packaging: Before purchasing, observe whether the nameplate is in simplified Chinese, and it should include rated voltage, rated current, manufacturer name or trademark, model, safety instructions, etc. The product’s labeling should be clear and not easily erased; the product should have proper packaging with good printing quality and relevant product information. When checking the product manual, ensure that it contains detailed instructions for installation, use, maintenance, and repair, as well as sufficient safety warnings and product after-sales service guidance;
(3) Check the product’s appearance quality: Visually inspect that the surface of the smart watch case is smooth and flat, the seams of the case should be tight, and there should be no gaps when pressed, and the back cover should not be bulging. Also, check whether the nameplate includes rated voltage, rated current, manufacturer name or trademark, model, etc. Smart watch products with calling functions should have CCC certification marks on the product body or outer packaging, and the marks should be clear and not easily erased.
