PCB Layout Design Reference for WiFi Module Applications
1. Layout Specifications for the WiFi Module Circuit:
  1. The layout of the WiFi module should be kept away from the main control CPU and DDRAM and other high-speed digital devices to avoid mutual interference of high-frequency digital signals;

  2. The layout area of the WiFi module should include the bottom layer, avoiding the placement of other unrelated devices and traces;

  3. The feed line loop area of the WiFi module antenna should include the bottom layer and all layers, avoiding the placement of other unrelated devices and wiring networks;

  4. The placement area of the WiFi module antenna must be kept away from the main control CPU, DDRAM, and other high-speed digital devices, power wiring, crystal clocks, LCD interfaces, and camera interfaces, as well as other strong interference areas; and there should be a sufficient forbidden zone;

2. Important Design Rules for PCB Units:
1. Antenna Feed Line Interface and Antenna Base:
  1. The entire RF trace loop must be designed with a 50-ohm impedance, with traces at the same layer as the module; the trace loop should ideally be a straight line, avoiding branches, corners, and sharp angles (must be greater than 90° with a large arc), the width of the trace should match the pad width of the components, and the shorter the trace loop, the better;
  2. The entire antenna feed line loop and pin directly below should be hollowed out at the adjacent layer (Layer 2), corresponding to the third layer (Layer 3) providing a complete ground layer, that is, using the third layer as the RF trace ground layer;
  3. The distance from the ground to the RF line on both sides should be equidistant, and both sides should use symmetrical connections to the ground layer with vias spaced within 30 mil, and GND vias should not be placed in the forbidden zone, the safety distance of the ground on both sides should not be too small, around 20 mil;
  4. The RF loop should be kept away from sensitive traces such as power and clock;
  5. The surface layer in the middle of the RF base should be hollowed out down to the reference layer;
