On July 14, at a press conference held by the State Council Information Office, relevant officials from the General Administration of Customs introduced the import and export situation of goods trade in the first half of this year. Wang Lingjun, Deputy Director of the General Administration of Customs, stated that China’s import and export have maintained over 10 trillion yuan for nine consecutive quarters, with an increase of more than 600 billion yuan in the first half of this year compared to the same period last year.Additionally, according to data from the General Administration of Customs, from January to June this year, the total import of diodes and similar semiconductor devices reached 245.74 billion units, a year-on-year increase of 2.3%, with an import value of 11.54 billion USD, up 3.8%; the total import of integrated circuits reached 281.88 billion units, a year-on-year increase of 8.9%, with an import value of 191.36 billion USD, up 7%.The growth in exports is even more remarkable, with integrated circuits exporting 16.778 million units in the first half of the year, a year-on-year increase of 20.6%; the export value was 90.47 billion USD, a year-on-year increase of 18.9%.Among them, industrial robots performed exceptionally well, with China’s domestic industrial robot export market share jumping to second in the world last year, and exports continued to grow by 61.5% in the first half of this year. Wang Lingjun stated that Chinese foreign trade enterprises are seizing the new trends in global energy transition, continuously increasing the supply of high-quality green products, and accelerating the exploration of new fields and new tracks. In the first half of the year, the export growth rates of lithium batteries and wind turbine generators both exceeded 20%. Recently, everyone may have been paying attention to the “Robot Super” event, which is a robot football match, showcasing the versatility of robots from dancing to marathons to playing football, fully reflecting the innovative vitality of China’s robotics industry.Recent data released from various regions also shows that the growth of robot exports has become a highlight. The Foshan Statistical Bureau recently announced that the import and export volume from January to May this year was 195.2 billion yuan, a simultaneous decline of 9.7%. However, during the same period, the export value of industrial robot products from Foshan significantly increased, with a year-on-year growth of about 24.1%, reaching 170 million yuan.It is reported that the core AI industry scale in Guangdong is expected to exceed 220 billion yuan in 2024, with a year-on-year growth of about 25%, firmly ranking in the top tier nationwide; the smart robotics industry revenue is 99.2 billion yuan; the production of industrial robots reached 246,800 units, a year-on-year increase of 31.2%; and the export of robot-related products reached 45.74 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 19.6%.From January to May this year, Jiangsu exported industrial robots worth 690 million yuan, a year-on-year increase of 90%. Companies in the robotics field such as Greentown Harmonic, Zhongda Electronics, and Dayi Heng Precision Machinery have seen rapid growth in overseas orders. In recent years, the popularity of humanoid robots has driven the growth of the entire robotics industry, but currently, from the application end, humanoid robots are mainly used in universities, laboratories, and algorithm development fields. Some automotive companies have made small-scale attempts to use humanoid robots for simple handling tasks or for display purposes at exhibitions, making large-scale application difficult in the short term. However, industrial robots represent a continuous growth in demand for industrial automation. Behind the popularity of humanoid robots, various forms such as AGVs and robotic arms on production lines are gaining more recognition for their ability to effectively improve production efficiency. Coupled with recent trends in supply chain localization and the expansion of Chinese manufacturing overseas, industrial robots are expected to usher in a new period of rapid growth.
