The PCB industry in the Yangtze River Delta accounts for one-quarter of the national total, with a high concentration of Taiwanese and foreign enterprises. It is the main area for Taiwanese, Japanese, and South Korean PCB industry chain companies in mainland China. The Yangtze River Delta PCB industry cluster is primarily centered around Suzhou (Kunshan and Wuzhong District), with Wuxi also having a significant scale, and other key enterprises and listed companies distributed in places like Changzhou. The industry is spreading from Suzhou, Wuxi, and Changzhou to Nantong, Huai’an, Yancheng, and other regions outside the province, such as Anhui. Among these, Huai’an, relying on the production layout of global PCB leader Unimicron Technology, has the most significant scale in the areas accommodating the transfer of the Yangtze River Delta PCB industry.

——Suzhou
Suzhou is the core base of the PCB industry in the Yangtze River Delta. In 2023, Suzhou’s PCB production reached 24.814 million square meters, leading in the Yangtze River Delta, but significantly down from 39.086 million square meters in 2021, possibly due to internal structural adjustments in the industry and the exit of low-end product capacity. In terms of key enterprises, Suzhou is home to the headquarters of the top 10 global PCB companies, including Dongshan Precision and Unimicron Technology, with both Taiwanese and foreign leaders establishing production bases in Suzhou. The concentration of foreign and joint-venture PCB factories in the country is highest here, including major bases for companies like Unimicron Technology, Japan’s Kinsus, Jialin Technology, Nanya PCB, and others.
——Wuxi
The PCB industry in Wuxi is dominated by Taiwanese and foreign leaders. The PCB industry in Wuxi benefited early on from investments by Taiwanese leading enterprises, including Kinpo Electronics, Zhi Chao Technology, Hanyu Bo De, and Gaode Electronics Group. Leveraging its integrated circuit industry foundation, Wuxi has also introduced key enterprise projects for IC packaging substrates, hosting important bases for domestic leading companies like Shenzhen Circuit and Xingsen Technology. According to statistical yearbook data, Wuxi’s PCB production in 2023 was 12.1183 million square meters.
——Huai’an
Huai’an relies on the main base of global PCB leader Unimicron Technology, becoming an important PCB manufacturing base in the Yangtze River Delta. Since Unimicron settled in Huai’an in 2006, it has invested over 20 billion yuan locally, significantly boosting the development of Huai’an’s electronic information industry. In 2022, the revenue of Unimicron’s facilities in Huai’an reached 14.9 billion yuan (including the Qindong Precision and Honghengsheng bases), and in 2024, the revenue of Qindong Precision alone is expected to reach 13.348 billion yuan, accounting for over 80% of Huai’an’s PCB output value. Key PCB enterprises in Huai’an also include Huai’an Tech and Jialichuang Electronics. Regionally, Huai’an’s PCB industry is mainly concentrated in the Huai’an Economic Development Zone and Lianshui County. Relying on leading enterprises like Unimicron, Huai’an’s PCB products focus on high-end HDI and FPC fields, with high product added value. In 2023, the city’s PCB production was only 4.24 million square meters, but the output value is expected to exceed 15 billion yuan.
