Software Introduction

Keil MDK-ARM is an IDE (Integrated Development Environment) produced by the American company Keil Software that supports ARM microcontrollers. MDK-ARM includes the industrial standard Keil C compiler, macro assembler, debugger, real-time kernel, and other components. It features a leading ARM C/C++ compilation toolchain, perfectly supporting Cortex-M, Cortex-R4, ARM7, and ARM9 series devices, including the world’s top brands of chips. For example: ST, Atmel, Freescale, NXP, TI, and many other major companies’ microcontroller chips.If you are programming in C language, then Keil is almost your best choice. Even if you are not using C language but only programming in assembly language, its easy-to-use integrated environment and powerful software simulation debugging tools will make your work more efficient.

1. Completes the entire development process including editing, compiling, linking, debugging, and simulation.

The simulator is standard with an 11.0592MHz crystal oscillator, but users can replace it with other frequency oscillators in the simulator’s crystal socket.

The 31 pin (/EA) of the simulation chip is connected to a high level, so only internal ROM can be used during simulation, external ROM cannot be used; however, the 31 pin in the external pin of the simulator is not connected to the 31 pin of the simulation chip, so this simulator can still be inserted into a target system that has external ROM (where the CPU’s /EA pin is connected to a low level).

Installation Steps

1. After downloading the software, unzip the installation package.2. Double-click to open the unzipped folder.3. Click on mdk518, right-click and select ‘Run as Administrator’.4. Click Next.5. Check to agree to the terms of the agreement, then click Next.6. Click Browse to change the installation location of the software, it is recommended to install it on a disk other than drive C, click Next, if you do not need to change the installation address, just click Next.7. Enter your nickname and other information, then click Next.

8. Wait patiently for the installation process to complete.9. Click Install.Uncheck, then click Finish.10. Click OK.11. Close the software.12. Find the installed program on your desktop, click on ‘Keil uVision5’, right-click and select ‘Run as Administrator’.13. Click on ‘License Management’ under the ‘File’ menu.This screen will appear, do not close it.14. In the previously unzipped software installation package, click on keygen, right-click and select ‘Run as Administrator’.15. Copy the ‘CID’ from the software license manager and paste it into the ‘CID’ box of the keygen.

16. Select ARM in Target, choose Professional in the CID field, click Generate and copy the activation code displayed in the box.17. Paste the registration code in the ‘LIC’ box, then click ‘Add LIC’.

18. After successful activation, if the activation takes too long, you can re-select the activation code and then click close.

19. Click Exit.20. In the previously unzipped software installation package, double-click to open the ZH_CN folder and copy the UV4 file.21. Find the installed program on your desktop, click on ‘Keil uVision5’, right-click and select ‘Open File Location’.22. In the blank space, right-click and paste the opened keil software, click to replace the target file (if it prompts that it cannot be replaced, please check if the software is open, if it is open, please close the opened keil software first).23. Find the installed program on your desktop, double-click to open the software.24. Software installation is complete.
