RISC-V Educational Application Demonstration Base
was officially inaugurated at Zhuhai City Vocational Technical College

On the morning of the same day, the inauguration ceremony of the RISC-V Educational Application Demonstration Base was held at Zhuhai City Vocational Technical College. Zhao Xijun, Director of the Southern Integrated Circuit Design Service Center, Sun Yanbang, President of Jindie Space (Zhuhai) Technology Co., Ltd., and Wang Jun, Secretary-General of the Zhuhai Center of the China Open Instruction Ecosystem (RISC-V) Alliance, among other industry leaders, attended the event. Deputy Director of Zhuhai Education Bureau, Xie Fang, presented the plaque to the base.

As an open-source instruction set architecture, RISC-V is an important breakthrough for China to overcome technological blockades in the chip field. Zhuhai City Vocational Technical College actively responds to the national call for “open-source autonomy and innovation leadership” and earnestly implements Zhuhai’s work deployment to promote the RISC-V ecosystem construction in the education system. Since September last year, the college has successively collaborated with the Southern Integrated Circuit Design Service Center, Jindie Space, and other enterprises to establish the RISC-V Educational Application Base.
President Chen Douxue stated in his speech that the launch of the RISC-V Educational Application Demonstration Base is a key measure to deepen the integration of industry and education, serving the national chip strategic layout. The base will focus on education and application of the RISC-V open-source instruction set architecture, cultivating high-quality technical and skilled talents.

During the inauguration ceremony, Zhuhai City Vocational Technical College also received the plaques for “RISC-V Project Practice Base” and “RISC-V Joint Laboratory”, and reached a cooperation agreement with the RISC-V community to jointly build an RISC-V open-source education and training base.
Currently, Zhuhai has three bases (centers) including the RISC-V Ecological Application Innovation Center, the RISC-V Ecological Construction Talent Training Base, and the RISC-V Ecological Innovation Center co-built with Huafa City Zhiyuan and Yuanshi Intelligent Computing. However, there is a lack of an educational application base that integrates popular science for primary and secondary schools, technical skill talent training, and application incubation. The RISC-V Educational Application Demonstration Base fills this gap.
The base includes a RISC-V research laboratory, an integrated circuit virtual simulation base, an industrial internet and intelligent control industry-education integration base, and a big data and cloud computing industry-education integration base, covering an area of over 12,000 square meters. It focuses on connecting with industries such as integrated circuits, electronic information, and smart home appliances, emphasizing talent cultivation, popular science education, and innovation entrepreneurship, with plans to build it into a RISC-V educational application demonstration base in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area within 3-5 years.
