On September 9, the State Council Information Office held a series of themed press conferences on “High-Quality Completion of the 14th Five-Year Plan,” where relevant officials from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology introduced the situation.China’s manufacturing industry has maintained the largest overall scale in the world for 15 consecutive yearsFrom 2020 to 2024, China’s total industrial added value increased from 31.3 trillion yuan to 40.5 trillion yuan, while the added value of the manufacturing industry rose from 26.6 trillion yuan to 33.6 trillion yuan. The total increase in manufacturing added value during the entire 14th Five-Year Plan period is expected to reach 8 trillion yuan, contributing over 30% to global manufacturing growth. The added value of the manufacturing industry accounts for nearly 30% of the global total, and China’s manufacturing industry has maintained the largest overall scale in the world for 15 consecutive years; the complete system of manufacturing categories has become increasingly advantageous, with most of China’s products ranking first in the world among 504 major industrial products.China’s production and sales of new energy vehicles have ranked first in the world for 10 consecutive years

The pace of industrial upgrading has accelerated, with the added value of China’s equipment manufacturing and high-tech manufacturing industries growing at an average annual rate of 7.9% and 8.7% respectively from 2020 to 2024, raising their proportions in the regulated industrial sector to 34.6% and 16.3%.Last year, the production of new energy vehicles exceeded 13 million, maintaining the world’s first position for 10 consecutive years; The shipbuilding industry continues to lead the global market share. The green content of the industry is also continuously improving, with the number of national-level green factories reaching 6,430, and the energy consumption per unit of added value in large-scale industrial units continuously decreasing.
